Jedi posted on page 1. He doesn't make any boxes. His boxes are from www.4080enclosures.com

I have the ZEnclosures box and I still had room in my trunk to put my golf clubs. Actually I could have fit a couple more bags in there with it. My fiance and I went to the beach for a week and we were still able to put my suitcase, duffle bag, laptop, her suitcase, duffle bag, and her bathroom tote bag in the car. You can utilize the rear seats for other things besides people.

Okay...

Would it be better to have a box custom for my SUBWOOFER, or my CAR?

Car.

When it comes to a sealed box, it's not rocket science. Air space is air space regardless of shape. Though different subs will do better in smaller enclosures, all subs essentially act the same. The more air space, the better. The more air space, the greater low frequency extension. The more air space, the less power is required for the subwoofer to reach maximum excursion, thereby maximum SPL.

That makes sense...

I would like to say thank you first to FIREBIRD dude, I think you've helped us all very much (particularly ZumnRx8with his shoe problem).

So it sounds like my best bet is to go with a Zenclosure box if I don't want to spend the cash on a 4080. Well I trust you fellow members and I'll definately update you when I get around to hooking it all up.

P.S: Hey Zumn will you please change your comment thing from "I fail @ RX8's" to "I fail at shoes?"

Wow... What all are you doing with it? I'd love to see it when it's all said and done.

I wouldn't have to remove my seats just to install the subs myself would I?

You'll most likely have to remove the seats and the paneling in the back in order to run the wires. It's not that hard they are just clipped on iirc.

The bottom part of the rear seats are just clipped in. Just pull up on the front of each one. The rear back support part of the rear seats are held in by two bolts per seat. Remove bolts then lift up towards the roof. Then it's just a few plastic push-in style bolt clip thingies. Same style clips that you'll find holding on the molded carpet in the trunk. I could have an 8 disassembled just like Zumn in under 20 minutes.

Zenor, depends on how you're planning on mounting everything. I would seriously consider the amp rack idea I posted a picture of on the first page. Yes. It will be more work to install versus just screwing it to the box like Zumn is doing, but in my opinion at least, it will look 10x nicer when finished. Every inch of wire will be hidden. It will look much like nuke's install he pictured on page 1. A single 12" mounted center on the box with the amp under plexiglass in the storage area. Still tons of room for clothes.

That's true... I'm now considering just getting two 12" type r's if I'm going to have the large box. Those two combined are about the same price as a single type x would be anyway. (Not to mention the same wattage and whatnot)... So now I need to know if it would be smarter to get each one at 2 ohms or 4 ohms and if I should get two 500 watt amps or a single 1000 watt amp.

I'm not just screwing it to the side of the box, if I was then I would not have dissasembled the car the amp is not going to be visible at all and..... I don't want to ruin the project I'm working on by letting everyone know what I'm doing, everythings gonna be real clean with not even 1 wire exposed....good luck on whichever way of installling ur going to choose.

They were probably charging you $20 for the converter + 80/hr labor... thats what they charge for labor. You can do it urself, and yes you do need it.....dont install it behind your deck...tap into ur rear speaker....time saving and works the same plus u dont need to buy all that extra wiring...
