Positive. If you'll note at the top of the diagram you posted, it says "4-ohm load". You need a 1-ohm load. Wire them in parallel as I previously posted.

Oh that's right! I forgot that the amp is 1-ohm stable.

So could I expect results like this? Type R

Is anyone aware of this XXX brand of wiring kit? Also it appears that it has everything I'll need for the afore mentioned setup but could someone second that?

Gotta watch it when you buy those no-name wiring kits. 4 gauge doesn't always mean 4 gauge. Thicker insulation and less copper.

If this is the only amp you'll ever have (as in you'll never have one for the cabin speakers) here's a decent kit for a decent price:
http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDe...?prodID=KLM-K4

If you're gonna add another amp, get this one instead:
http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDe...prodID=KOL-AK4

The difference being the first one is Copper-Clad. It cannot carry as much current as a wire containing much more copper. I've been using it with my ZX700.5 for over a year without issues. It's no problem. But if you're gonna have two high power amplifiers pulling a lot of juice, better get the good stuff.

Bah. $50 shipped for the better one? Where you gonna get a true 4 gauge high-copper kit including ANL style fuse holder and RCAs for under 50 bucks? It's a deal.

And if you got the cheaper one, it's still good for ~90-100 amps. $35 shipped? It's a deal.

Oh and if you have time, go to that website, then click Knu Kars at the top. Then click the staff favorites tab.

BTW... Zumn, your new sig is TIZZIGHT!

And Firebird, how'd you manage to become a staff favorite? What's in your trunk!?!

Also, would anybody be interested in me documenting my entire installment of subwoofers with photos and a small guide?

Let me know, Zenor34

Okay... Not to awaken a semi dead thread but I thought this would be better than a brand new one...

My friend wants to buy my 1206d for almost the same price I paid... Therefore, I'm planning on upgrading to the 1606d for $50.

My first question is if this amp is too powerful for two alpine type r subs?

Second, are there any precautions that should be taken when swapping amps?
