We got quite a bit accomplished this weekend. Basically, we just took the weekend to check everything out and see all of our options. We found a lot of ways to get where everyone wants to go, we are just working on some details. Hopefully this will take off soon. By the end of this week we should have a definite decision on which way we are going and take off from there.

I'd say I like to have the screen on top of the A/C vents, but at the same time, a 2-DIN option under the vents would be great. In the future, if I get bored of the factory HU's capabilities, I'd probably could replace it, such as the Clarion MAX675VD and try to get the top screen to display the output while the bottom screen still shows controls. Maybe you guys could do both, then there will be option for everyone and you might get some guys who would get both too. The Feast power one looks interesting, but the price puts me off it.

As for myself, I like the looks of this one...

I already have the factory nav system and would like a Car PC.
I'd use it to play mp3-4 stored on the HD and include a sirus...

Good Luck!

I agree with what others are saying- Manual flip-up in the nav location

I'm very interested to see how this goes..

A flip up screen will be started in the next week. Currently, this is what we are working on...

This is for our 8" screen with the A/C controls moved to the ash tray. It will be completed tomorrow or Thursday, and the flip up option will be started shortly after that.

Settle down Jeager.

After thinking about it for those that would like to replace the stock head unit this would look the best having the screen in that spot. Great for those that have Nav too.

Car PC is looking very, very, very nice.

Is the slot for a CD/ DVD rom?

Here are the semi-final pics of option C. Please excuse my camera phone, it's all I have at the moment. I'll get better pics this weekend.

Yes. The carputer is installed inside the top dash piece. The screen is a touchscreen.

Yes we kept the FM tuner, it is connected with the AC controls. Works like a charm!

Is it just me or the screen seems to be squarish?
Not the normal widescreen 8" touchscreen LCD?

The production peices will be the black.

What price does everyone think is fair for molds like these?

We were also thinking of selling the screen and mold as a set and maybe even save yall some money.

This looks great. I have a couple of questions.

* How did you get a cd/dvd in the space provided above the screen? It seems awful thin and I am trying to figure out how you shoe horned the cd/dvd unit in.

* How are you incorporating a keyboard for the carputer? (If it is a carputer)

This solution looks great. I could pull my Stereo unit and replace with a carputer. Preferably a mac mini. Then can sync everything when I pull in the driveway.....

I am still interested in the mold for the above dash unit.....

Once again great work.
