That is the design we are working on for the 7 inch in dash screen. We are still debating on the 7 inch in-dash or the 7 inch on top of the dash. We will decide and begin working on one of these designs after this weekend.

I agree with offering both. Many do not have the nav and really don't want to change/destroy the area above the dash. I think the in-dash has a much better integrated look anyway.

I would love to see the 7" on top of the dash. I am not so excited about removiing and relocating the HU for the CarPc although that still is an option. Did you have to use extensions for the wiring to relocate?

does this unit have GPS satellite capabilities?
I think I read earlier this can be used for DVD movies. But can they be watched while the car is moving?
Is it possible to add other features, maybe add a PS2 to play on?
Also I doubt it is impossible to keep the ashtray and cig lighter?

Yes, you can add GPS, watch movies if you attach a DVD drive, attach a PS2 to the monitor, with a 7" screen you could keep the cig lighter but if you go bigger and relocate the AC controls you would loose it or move it.

Hi all. Just found this thread. I am dying for a top of dash popup touch screen. Ideally something similar to the stock nav screen. So, if you are still taking votes that's mine

Why not a 2DIN? What do you have planned at the bottom area?
Seems like a lot of wasted space.

Was thinking of customizing also, maybe changing the A/C vents to those like the sides on our 8 and like those in the middle of the Mazda6, circular ones with option to close them... Maybe 3 of those, 2DIN below them and the A/C controls further below.

I 2nd that... I think the whole point of the hazard button being where it is is so it is easily accessible (by driver or passenger). I hope I'm not behind you when you see a hazard up the road but can't warn the driver behind you.

Few times I accidently hit the hazard lights on while driving and looking straight and trying to adjust the A/C vents. Moving them seems like a good idea to me.
