PA Crazy Electrical Issue Unresolved

Ok so I have had this problem for a little while now and I'd love to get some advice from the pros on here. Here is my problem:

Just replaced battery, starter, and terminals all brand new.

Everyday operation lights off: car works perfect, cruise control works.
Headlights turned on: ABS light, Traction light, fog lights stay on, cruise doesn't work.
Headlights turned back off: problems remain.

Only when car is turned off and headlights off does car resort back to working normally.

Ok I do have some electronic gadgets but does anyone know what I should be looking for first with this problem. I will re look at everything I have done this spring but everyone I talk to has no idea. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Year of car?
Day Time Running Lights?
Halogen or xenon headlights?

This problem happened after the above parts were installed?

Wait a sec.

"Replaced battery, starter, and terminals all brand new.", but the problem was there before all this correct? You said it's been acting this way for awhile.

Define gadgets......what exactly and how are they wired in?

Right off the top of my head, I'd say the ECU has gone batty, but it's too early to jump to that conclusion. Let me go look at the electrical diagram and see what I can find.

Please confirm : problem happens when you use the Headlights, and not parking lights.
I'm not seeing a direct link with either to be honest...
But take a look a the Auto-Leveling-Headlight System..... It interacts with both ABS and DSC

Hmmmm...........out of these I would suspect possibly the footwell lights wiring, but just not really sure.

I'm also assuming there was no wiring at all with the led signal bulbs?

Things to check as I am at a loss for the moment.

1.) You didn't put an LED in the third brake light position did you? If so, take it out and see if issue goes away!!!!

2.) Strange as it may seem, in the engine bay fuse box, check the headlight "head" relay and the TNS "tail" relay. <-- don't ask me why, but I am suspicious of this TNS relay.

3.) Before you even get to number 2, jump here to number 3 and I want to know each and every single LED that you have put in that car and where it is. These RotaryFX signal bulbs, are the LED?, and are they in the front or rear?, or both?

4.) Check each and every ground that may have been messed with during installing any of these "gadgets", especially any wiring that may have been done in the trunk under the liner.

Actually yes when parking lights are turn on.

I will check the fuse in the morning

Ok now that i think of it:
I do have an led after market third brake light wired in place. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-08...ht_6770wt_1167
Rear led turn bulbs with resistors via rotaryfx http://www.rotaryfx.com/product_p/lig1034.htm
generic 194 bulbs for front headlights

I guess I will just have to replace every bulb tomorrow and start from there

Start with the LED in that third brake light position. This is known to cause ABS/DCS issues as well as other strange things.
Start there and go one by one.
Anything with resistors, I would leave until the very end.
You can't have 194 for headlights, you must mean parking lights, and if you mean parking lights, then those aren't the issue, so you don't have to worry about them either.

This pretty much leaves that hard wired LED in the third brake light. Let me know what happens! Do it first!

I had the same problem. It was because my third brake light was out.

Put a new one, bam! everything works perfect

Yes, the brake light be out, or some cars don't like an LED in that poistion without a load resistor, so assuming his LED lights up with the brake lights, then it's niot because it's burned out(like a bulb), it may in fact be because he has it in there in the first place.

What, the third brake light LED?

And..........."You're welcome"..........give $5.00 or $10.00 to your local charity next time you have a chance!
Don't care if it's United Way, St. Judes, Veterans, Abused Womans shelter.........or anything else.

If you are really interested in putting it back use advanced search, use my username, and look for my thread about TCS/DCS light staying on, it will tell you the resistor value to use. Nevermind, here is the thread............. https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...ight=TCS%2FDCS see number 11 and 14. Couldn't hurt if you went to this thread and posted a response on what your problems were and what the fix was so others may see it.
