Umm, how do you set the clock?

I assume the clock/temp/ac stuff still works?

Can you customize the display like on the metra 6 kit?

How come you don't get it to look like the stock piano black finish?

I'm interested, but I'm the possibility of keeping the steering wheel controls functional is slim with this right?

this is going to open up a whole bunch of options for most of us who have been holding onto our stock/Bose systems given the cost of a custom center console....thanks for finding this.

Why is EVERYTHING for the RX8 so overpriced? Some plastic, wires, screws, metal bracket, and what appears as a small controler =

$486

Wow...maybe there are more reasons why the rotary engine isn't in alot of other cars. Am I blaming the rotary for an interior electronic part....no not really, but GOSH...what's the justification for such overblown prices for EVERYTHING aftermarket for the RX8.

It's a Mazda...not Rolls Royce...I guess I'm cheap and poor, a bad combo...

Forgive the rant , it's a long overdo product and if it allows you to keep your steering wheel controls...it's pretty much perfect.

Thanks for the effort and selling such a kit, I know this is a much needed product it's just to rich for my blood.

I am soo glad to see this product emerge. I am in on a group buy. As for the steering wheel controls PAC's SWI-X interface, which I came across on Crutchfield, allows you to use the steering wheel controls in many vehicles to command any aftermarket radio with wireless remote capability

^wow, thanks.....for telling me about that!

My question is...so with this kit, what do you actually lose? Info screen still shows information? Temp, AC...etc?

I had SWI-X on my last car and wasn't very impressed with it. At night it worked like a champ, but during the day the position of the sun had a direct effect on whether or not it worked. It happened so often that I got used to using the radio controls and forgot about the steering wheel controls. Just my .02

Will this work with a single DIN radio, with a pocket to fill the space? Or will it only mount a double DIN?

Particularly for in cars, the industry needs to get away from inferior IR (infrared) technology and move over to RF (radio frequency) technology. It'd solve all these kinds of problems. That and less proprietary technology/designs (the evil SONY being the champ of that camp).
