Confirmed - Another dash/install kit is coming.
very nice, and yeah it would be sick if we got a batch before the retailers, I doubt it as well, but who knows i mean if we get enough people, which I'm sure we will have a lot of people I don't see why they wouldn't want to give us dibs on first batch, especially since most of there first sales will probably be from everyone on here anyway lol
The way i Understand It. This kit won't actually come with a harness for interfacing with the audio system, just one for the display ( correct me if i'm wrong). So does anybody have a source for harnesses to interface with the factory Bose system? Or if this Kit was to ship with the actual Audio Harness will it be the pose or the standard audio?
It clearly states OEM style connectors for audio/climate/hazard/and display. I'm assuming the audio means it does come with a harness. Although the bose/non-bose is a good question.
In other news, I already bought my DNX8120 and sirius kit. All I need now is this baby.
Also, anyone thinks corksport should lower their price in lieu of this?

In other news, I found a volunteer for hosting a group buy, I'll need to get in touch with the 8club Gods and see what all is involved to move forward, if it's not too insane I'll move forward and try and get us some type of break on these etc.
excellent I am in for group buy totally.
To clarify to other people earlier in the thread Canary already said that he talked with his contacts at metra and the kit includes a harness for either the stock non Bose or "upgraded" Bose system.
The differences between the systems are that the Bose system has several amps in place around the car, and the speaker impedences are not industry standard, making the amps incompatible with any aftermarket speakers or head units. Probably what metra did to solve this was just to properly impedence match the Bose speakers to the replacement HU by putting a couple of resistors or something in the harness.

great news. i'll be on the lookout for that group buy.
Sorry if this sounded sarcastic, or like Captain Obvious, but it is just a fairly simple answer.
yeah the factory amps are not compatible with any speakers so you'd need to remove/bypass the Bose amps altogether. There are a couple of threads that I've actually seen pictures in showing the removal of the Bose amps along with their locations. I found them by browsing around the interior/audio section.
For my part I'm going to keep the Bose speakers and amps. It's too big a task for me to remove these right now; I don't even have a garage to work in. On the other hand, replacing a HU takes only a few minutes and I can handle doing that on the street or in a parking lot. That's why it's important to me they have a harness to keep the Bose speakers.
Sure they aren't great (they even sound slightly worse than the sound in my old Tiburon, lol), but they aren't bad at all from my point of view. I'm not an audiophile, but I do like to have more than just this CD player my car came with... and the audiolink mp3 player I have sounds even worse....
Can't wait for this thing, lol.

Oh ok, naw didn't sound sarcastic, I would like to keep stock amps just thought I could use them with aftermarket speakers some how, im not really big on having a huge system in my car or having a lot of bump, I had one in my 350z and didn't really use it much, found my self turning it down a lot when talking on the phone or talking to passengers, mainy getting after market hu for mp3 usage, the stock system sounds fine to me, just sounds like the speakers may go out soon so was considering getting some speakers, didn't know they wouldn't work with the amps tho
If adding navigation, DVD playback, or RCA outputs for adding amps is not important to you....then I see no reason at all to change the factory headunit. MP3 playback can be achieved with flawless sound quality in a number of ways.
not worried about the hu because this kit will come with the harness for that to work with the stock amps, was just wondering about the speakers, not adding navi got that stock, also not adding dvd play back, not in my car long enough to watch movies, just getting this kit to have a deck that can play mp3 cd's so im not stuck with cd's that handle only 20 songs a cd, i could add aftermarket speakers and just not have the stock amps hooked up to them right? quality couldnt be that much better with aftermarket and stock amp vs aftermarket and stock amp could it? i wouldnt think so seeing as i am not looking for adding a big system or anything
Hey dude. To each their own.
