Close Out Amps At Crutchfield

I was in crutchfield the other day and got a great deal on an Audiobahn A4002V amp for $139.99. The original price on these amps are $239.99. They had a few left so I might pick up another. Here are the specs on the amp and pics of my updated custom install.

A4002V: 800 WATTS ACH POWER
100 WATTS X 2 @ 4 OHMS RMS POWER
200 WATTS X 2 @ 2 OHMS RMS POWER
400 WATTS X 1 @ 4 OHMS RMS POWER

The first pic is the amp installed in the floor behind lexan. The amp is chrome but it was a little to loud for me so I used gun metal decal to make the border around the edge of the lexan and dress up the amp a bit. The second pic is with lights off in my garage. The built-in digital volt meter is a nice feature. The bottom light in the center is the word Audiobahn illuminated but it did not come out very clear.

That's nice. Do you have pics on your install? I'm curious what sub you have in there.

It looks a little short for a bazooka? not sure.... but it looks like it's not just 'sitting' on top of the trunk bottom there.

*scratches head* I'm not sure....

I added three addtional tweeters, a pair of Boston 6x9's powered by a small 2 channel Sony amp (mtd on back of rear seat) and a 8" bazooka powered by the Audiobahn amp...all to the factory Bose system. I tapped into the rear speaker wires (preamp) and added a LOC with adjustable gain controls. From the LOC I used RCA Y connectors and (2) sets of RCA cables to send the signal to each amp. Before I had to turn the volume up to 15 to really hear the bass. Now I get the same amount of bass at 10 on the dial. It's almost to much for the 8" bazooka to handle at 15. I may get a 4080 box one day cause I have a slightly used 10" Polk Audio sub capable of handling 400 watts just laying around. By the way the 8" bazooka fits perfect in the location you see in the pic. There is just enough room for it to play like it should. I measured the space before buying it.

This pic is of the old Clarion Amp mounted in rear floor.
