Can I add a Navi System in my 8 if it didnt come with one?

I am wanting to put the Navi System in my wives 8, but was told by the dealer that it would be nearly impossible to accomplish this task. Please let me know if it is possible and what all it will take me.

Thanks

Yes, it is doable - at least it was done before. This is what it takes.

Oh, and price-wise, you are looking at over 2 grand just for the parts... which are not easy to come by. Then (unless you do it yourself) on top of that comes the cost of the labor...

Of course all the parts that were supplied in that conversion came from me.

Well I am wanting to keep with the full factory look in the car. Price doesnt really matter at this point. Can you send me info and pricing on the parts?

If that's the case, you should have bought an Aston Martin or something like that

Ok the Aston is a little out of the Price range.

Would have done that but she got a shinka model and it was gonna be like a 3 month wait to get one to Texas with a Navi installed. Dont really mind the hassle. She can drive the SRT-4 or the Soltice while i am installing all the parts. Just need info where to get all the parts to do it.

or.. buy a japanese shinka with a navi and have it shipped over. not only do you get to pick from several exterior colors (purple, red, black etc.), u also get to know where all the best sushi places are in tokyo and get to drive on the right side! kekekekeke

Uh, Japan drives on the left (the US on the right). And it is only a novelty in the beginning... in practice... it sucks. Nothing like shifting with the right hand...

I went to the a Auto Stereos shop yesterday asked about the DVD navigation system.
since my 8 doesn't have navi system either and i bought demo car.
They said they could custom made the hood on center top part of the radio.
(on part which has hole showed time and temperture one)
They could made a hole to fit the DVD navigation, but it has to be the Pioneer AVIC-N1 or N2 which is the one can flip-out.
$1700 include everything....i heard there is $300 rebate.
