Audio system help.

Hey guys wanted to know ther best route / cheapest to do this. I am thinking about installing teo 10" subs to the car but before that I would like to make it so any bass from the speakers is eliminated so that the other highs.lows etc come cleanly out of the speakers and just the subs are used for the bass.

Is it best to buy a four channel amp for the speakers and then a two channel amp for the subs so that way the bass on the small speakers can be regulated to the lowest level possible?

any suggestions or help would be nice.

Also I currently have a clarion max385vd head unit with clarion speakers. I think rated 250watt inb front and like 180 back or vice versa not sure.

Are you currently running the front/rears directly off of the head unit? Is there any factory equipment being used as part of your setup?

Your headunit likely has a built in high pass filter for your interior speakers. But if you're going to get an amp for them, as you should , yes, any 4-channel amp will have a built in high pass crossover. This will eliminate bass from those speakers.

A single channel amp is what you want for the subwoofers. Regardless if you have one, two, or ten subs.

How much you looking to spend? Who's doing the install? You have ideas for a box yet?

I am going to do the install and as far as the box goes im going to build a box to hold the sub inbetween the two back seats and mount the amp in the small dip in the trunk. Spening wise no more then $600... nothing stock right now, clarion head unit and speakers so all i need to buy is the two amps and im thinking one ten inch sub woofer.

Have you measured the space between the two rear seats? I don't think anyone has fit a 10" there...

And if you're only going to use one 10", have you thought about using one 5-channel amp to power it all? Much easier time wiring and mounting. Mounting two full size amps in that dip is not going to be easy. I use the Kicker ZX700.5. 420WRMS to the subwoofer. Should be plenty for a single 10". Hell I have it pushing two Kicker CVRs and it still friggin bangs.

I think he means build a box so the subs are facing the seats but behind them.

Yea, I think that was just a poor choice of words. No able-minded person would think they'd be able to get 2 10" subs in the pass-through panel

The front speakers will have one high pass filter. Adjusting it will adjust the amount of bass in both front speakers. The rear speakers will have one high pass filter. Same story. The subwoofer channel will have one low pass filter. This will eliminate high frequencies from the subwoofer.

Look towards the right side of the amp. The top set of 3 ***** is for the subwoofer. One for gain, one for LP filter, and one for bass boost. Below that is a set of 4 *****. Two are labeled "amp 1" and two are labeled "amp 2." The front's will be on one set and the rears on the other set. One **** for gain and one **** to adjust HP filter.

View the pictures in my sig if you want to see how this amp looks installed in that dip.

Thread jack- How do you like the Adire Koda components firebirdude? I wanted them like 7-8 yrs ago but never had the money. I ended up getting boston acoustic z6's instead but had wondered your opinion on adire's set?

I really couldn't be happier with them. I've had them through a couple installs now and powered by different amps. Had 125WRMS on them for awhile and they never even blinked. Tremendous low frequency extension and punch, with tons of crystal clear volume. I really have no reason to ever buy anything else so long as these live.

I'm sure there's equal out there, but many top-end lines (note I said LINES not BRANDS)... Kappa Perfects for example... don't hold a stick to these.

I feel obligated to let you know that a sub in the cabin is going to be very uncomfortable. Subwoofers push a lot of air which is why they're most often found in trunks facing backwards or up.

ECRX8, your car had Bose originally? Just asking to find out what size you're looking for.
