Anyone build ported box for a 12" sub?

I see a lot of custom built sub enclosures for the RX8, however, all of the ones I have found are sealed boxes.

http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trk...All-Categories

Does anyone have a ported box with a 12" sub? I'm looking at getting a 12" IDMax sub and the recommended ported enclosure size is 2.5 cuft, tuned to 28hz.

I'd love to see any pictures of some ported enclosures inside the rx8, and the actual specs for the box would be even better.

Thanks!

Well, found someone on here who had a ported box with a 12", but it looks like it took up almost the whole trunk.

Looks like I may have to find a good audio shop in the area as I am horrible with MDF and/or Fiberglass.

thats the problem with the rx8 trunk, getting that much air space in a box makes it take up nearly the whole trunk, the area under the rear deck that most of us put a box in lets a box be about 1.6 cubic feet total, so to make it a full cubic foot bigger you have to sacrifice space farther out

I made a regular ZenEnclosure box into a ported one for a 12" Alpine Type-R. Just told them to cut the hole for the woofer on one side. Then bought some 4" PVC pipe/fittings, used a 4 1/2" hole saw on the other side, and installed. Paint the inside of the PVC to match the carpet and presto. Worked very well. Still didn't look as clean at the 4080 design like laythor posted, so I eventually switched it out.

i think the 4080 design ones are the best in the rx8 trunk, there is no place you can geta box with 2.6 cubic feet like you want for a ported box and it look nice, you either get the 4080 box design or the more standard look like the zenclosures one and neither are even close to 2 cubic feet

I did mine ported, same air space as the sealed box. I built one with an Aero Port and i did one with a slot port. Slot port was louder, but doesnt leave alot of room for a deeper sub.
