Hey guys.. Old thread is reborn again.. I just purchased this unit for my car and am having it installed right now. My question is more of a concern regarding the exhaust temperatures. I have a print out from Mazda that shows some diagnostic information at the time I received a CEL a long time ago. It shows that the CATTEMP value is 1684 degrees!!!

Shouldn’t I be concerned about installing this product if it states that unpredictable results can occur above recommended specs which state as you know..

"The Bosch LSU4.2 wide-band O2 sensor (shipped as part of the LM-1 kit) is rated to operate at an exhaust gas temperature of < 1300 degrees (F), and a sensor housing temperature of < 900 degrees (measured at the bung) for maximum accuracy and control. "

Now with a CATTEMP of over 1650 degrees can this at all be equated to the above specs? I now know why you put so much time and effort into trying to keep it cool...

I am really considering purchasing the extender before I drive my car/put it on the dyno...

Is it possible that wrapping the exhaust in the vicinity of the wideband bung could help with heat as well?

Yup, he sold it to me. Can't wait to install it. I'm still waiting on my custom A-pillar.
