Removing metal cap in the fog light?

Does anyone know how to remove the metal cap located inside the foglight, doing so, would it make it brighter? thanks

uh i read a thread on this somewhere, can't remember where off hand

basically the guy just took it out carefully with a set of pliers (crushing and twisting and cutting it)

considering it can't be a perfectly efficient reflector I'm sure it would gain some brightness, but moreover the light just comes out with a different focus...

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-yourself-forum-73/diy-how-remove-foglight-housing-bulb-reflector-176299/

found it

also i'm assuming you'd do this for looks, not to improve the performance of your fogs...

aipex8 did it to make his LED's fit. I wouldn't do it unless you are trying to do something like that. The purpose is to not distract on-coming drivers.

It won't make it brighter really...it will increase the glare a lot though. The blocker removes the scatter reflection from the bulb

I could never get the thing out with pliers. Ended up just using the fog light housing to make HID projectors.

Good luck anyway!
