I made this second brake light for deedub using the HP leds. After testing it out I like it so much more than the first that i'm going to give him version 1. The first brake light used different leds that do not math the HP leds. The HP's are actually red-orange leds (thats what all auto mfg's use).
Cool cool...I may end up ordering a few different colors and seeing which I like the best before ordering a whole bunch. I liked the thread deedub posted btw was funny as hell...lol

been following your thread since it started, and i am amazed at how great a job you've done. i considered custom led boards for my side markers once upon a time, never thought of the tail light, and although i am good with a soldering iron and the simple circuitry i decided i dont have the fab skills(read "*****") to do the side markers.... much less tail light!

you have by far the most unique custom and best looking lighting i have seen yet

Thanks for your compliments. The side markers were pretty easy. I knocked them out in one night.

I posted some more pictures here:

lurch's led interior conversion looks sweet! i would really like to change those orangish-red lights on the headunit to some dark red ones some day.

its easy. for the dash, you need a bunch of plcc leds in the appropriate color, take the dash apart. replace the leds that you want to change the color of, reassemble.

Where did you purchase your plcc leds from?
