Thanks, I did some research on them and it looks perfect.

I'm also thinking about building a small voltage regulator to protect the leds from voltage spikes.

radio shack sells +12V Fixed-Voltage Regulator 7812 which I am considering using.

You should try to get a piece of chromed formica instead of the black. It would match with the reverse and blinker surrounds.

I don't have any chrome formica. The black stuff was left over from a project long ago.

i like your corner light idea. i wanted to do the same but with a single row going the entire length of the light, and in the amber (non clear) case

I made my prototype in the stock amber corner. I liked it a lot, however, since the stock markers dont stick out like the MS ones do, i could only fit 2 rows of 5 in there. You would have a hard time doing any more than 7 across because of small space inside there.

Wow man that's lookin hot...I was looking at maybe wiring up some LEDs for interior accent lights...how much research did you do before you settled on the HP LEDs? And if i'm right you used a different LED type for the center mounted brake light? Do the colors match pretty seamlessly? Great job so far on the conversion...i think you may have inspired some people. :-P

I made this second brake light for deedub using the HP leds. After testing it out I like it so much more than the first that i'm going to give him version 1. The first brake light used different leds that do not math the HP leds. The HP's are actually red-orange leds (thats what all auto mfg's use).
