Custom fender grill colors?

Custom fender grill colors?
Has anyone thought about changing the color of the fender grills? I'm not sure whether it would work, but on darker colored cars, a satin aluminum or titanium colored grill might look neat. I wish I had photoshop to try this out without wrecking my imaginary RX-8 (it's coming, really!)
OK, another idea that I'm almost ashamed to suggest since I generally hate the "light up the underside of the car" thing, but don't you think it would be kind of neat to light up the fender grills? If I did this I'd want to make the light intensity rev sensitive too. There, I said it. Am I crazy? Stop, don't answer that, I've been reading those "Oh sweet mother of <insert deity>, Mazda lied to me about hp. It's a global conspiracy!" threads, of course I'm crazy now !

Here's some photoshop work I did last year (before the car came out) on playing around coloring the front grill trying red (back then we thought there would be more colored seat insert choices) and blue and a chrome ... but never had any time to go back and try any other ideas ...
RX-8 Forum > General Topics > RX-8 Discussion > Colored keyed front grill panels to match inside colored seat inserts.

I'm still fond of the chrome front grill with a colored pin stripe around the inner most edge... check out the link above to se the other ones... I was planing on making a grill treatment using horozontal bars - but than when the G35 coupe came out I lost interest ...

That looks great, bwayout! I think the darker colors can benefit from contrasting colors on the front grill and the wheel arch fender grills.
Some people have reported the need for grills to cover the oil coolers. If there are after market grills made for those, then applying the same contrasting color there might be interesting. Testing this in photoshop is definitely the way to go. Thanks for posting the picture!

Maybe we can get someone with better photoshop skills to play around even more?
