Clear corner help
I was thinking about having my first mod be clear corners. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where i could get them (cheapest site). And if they differ from different sites. Also would i have to change the bulb inside to led or could i keep the same one, what color is the bulb inside the stock corner.
Thanks,
Jc

The stock corner has a clear (white) bulb in it. As supplied, the clear corner comes with an amber bulb of the same type installed. Some vendors also supply a "stealth" bulb, an amber bulb with a silvered coating that makes it invisible except when illuminated, so it shows white in the daylight, amber when lit. The stealth bulb may be included or may be additional cost. None of these are LED. I'm sure that there are LEDs available.
There are many vendors on the internet. Start with those listed in the "Vendors and Group Buys" forum, maybe Mazdaparts. All are the same product, the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) OEM part. Prices, shipping, and availability will vary somewhat.

Alot of folks here are also removing the reflector inside the clear corner. I did. IMO it spreads light more evenly throughout the fixture. Leaving it in gives the back 1/3 of the clear corner kinda dark. Just use a pair of needle nose pliers to remove it.

Not all clears come with replacement bulbs, the ones that I got off of ebay didn't. I wanted to put LEDs in, so this was ideal for me.
You can use the bulb that is in the stock amber corner, but like the front parking lights, the weak incandescent 194 bulb gives off a dim, brownish yellow color and is not very attractive. Technically the corner should illuminate and REFLECT amber, but I've never heard of anyone getting hassled for it.
Amber 194 bulbs are like .99 at any auto store.
I use amber refractor style LEDs from www.v-leds.com
Good luck with your first mod!

Do you have any pictures of what it looks like with the reflector out and illuminated?

Some states also require an amber reflector on the side front. That's why we get the amber corner instead of the JDM clear corner that comes stock to the rest of the world. In those states, the clear corner with amber bulb is illegal (there isn't an amber reflector anywhere), but I've never heard of anyone getting hassled about it. It might possibly become an issue if your vehicle was involved in a non-moving incident (parked car collision, maybe?) at night when the lights are off.

Simple mannn.. get the AB Flug Body Kit for your car and you won't have to worry about all this clear corner stuff and getting hassled by police.
But in all honesty.. I had the question of whether I should do this too or not.. Autolumination is a site where all they do is sell lightbulbs for the car, LEDs and what not.. they also have this "new" thing called the Switchback that is ideal for signal lights [even side markers if you choose to make them signal]. Its a LED tower bulb that lghts up white as a running/stand-by light and automatically turns amber when you signal.
Heres the site: http://autolumination.com/1156_1157.htm
Good luck!
