Another debadging thread

I did a search and didn't find a specific answer to what I was looking for... or pictures.

I was wondering how far apart the pegs are that hold the rear "MAZDA" emblem onto the left side of the trunk lid. I'm slightly obsessive compulsive so it bothers me a ton that the "MAZDA" and "RX-8" are different sizes and asymmetrical, so I'd like to ditch the Mazda emblem. Another problem I've encountered is another emblem I'd like to affix, and the lack of room for it. I attend SMU in Dallas, and I'd like to put one of the chrome SMU Mustangs on the back of the car, which is conveniently sized to correlate with the RX-8 badge. So - to the question at hand. I was unable to find any pictures of how big and far apart the pegs holding the Mazda emblem are, because if they're close enough together, I can go without spending $400 on debadging, filling, and re-painting until I do the whole trunk. Here's a picture (with comprable scale) of the desired new emblem. I just want to know whether you think that it would cover both holes completely, and honestly dont care about opinions.

Thanks in advance to anyone with the knowledge I'm looking for, especially if they have pictures!

-Michael

Now your getting picky well ,lets see....if your looking at it from my pics left to right is 2 in. from first peg to the middle peg,and 2 5/8 from the middle peg to the right peg, not taking into consideration that all the pegs are all horizotally offset to some degree...if this all helps

Talking Pull the clips.....

....flip back the trunk liner, and use a tape measure to find the distance between the two legs.

Then write it down.
