Well, poopy.

If anybody has them, I'd appreciate it if they could share them. I'd be happy to host them myself.

Sorry, bud.

If it makes you feel better, the audio wasn't that great.

I'll host them on my Google Drive so we don't use up all of Striker's bandwidth.

Edit: Alright, they're syncing now. Give them an hour or so to show up.

Anybody converted these videos to a regular format? I've spent most of the day fighting this TeamViewer thing. Since it's for "sharing" information, I'm not allowed to download it on my work laptop, which puts me using the Windows tablet I keep in the car to run my DSP (car audio thing). (And, now, the tablet will run my Versatuner software).

But I can't get the TeamViewer to keep working with the audio. After a half hour of rebooting and messing with it, I finally got audio. But then it dropped out again. I got it working again, but fast forwarding makes it quit. Even watching regular speed it quits occasionally. And the only way to make it work is to restart the video... The first video is over 2 hours and the first 20 minutes are just watching it set up. Which is fine, except that I've watched it 3 times... And I still can't keep it working long enough to see anything useful. I'm thinking somebody out there has made a normal file out of it.

I'm not being whiny, here. I very much want to watch all this and am willing to put in the hours. But so far all I've done is fight the software. Ideas?

Sorry for the interruption of worthwhile discussions...

Been there, got the scraggly "not-even-good-for-washing-the-lawn-mower" T-shirt. Best I can tell you is drop back two, maybe three versions of TeamViewer. Being you're working on a Windows tablet, you've got a fighting chance. My desktop is running version 12, which does play the files. I know for a fun-filled fact 11 was a nightmare, which is what drove me to install version 10 from the TeamViewer archives.

May the odds be in your favor!

Hi here, I own a RX-8 SP 2005 MT. I want to remove cats and assume might need to adjust ECU not to take into consideration the second O2 sensor. Would you guys help me please with that. I have Kess V2 and that's it.
Please suggest what software do I need more, and if there are any existing Euro 2 firmware for that care that can be flashed, please share.

Thanks in advance!

You may not need to flash it because most S1s don't generate a cel for that. If you do need software ...google epifan and purchase the Mazdaedit software.

FYI, I have an European version(2004), and it throws a CEL after a while.

As you can tell, I'm not on here much. The files are being restored to the link, though 1.tvs is corrupted, and I'm looking for another copy.

I found a 5-year old snapshot of the original .tvs files on my disk, here's #10:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/15nh...ew?usp=sharing

Let me know if it does not work.

BTW, what's wrong with the files at the site linked in Kane's first post? i.e., at Index of /RX8

Perfect thank you. Thats now being converted and uploaded.

As for whats wrong with the files in the first post...nothing. But theyre in a format that makes life harder than it needs to be. Now you can view anywhere without downloading locally or the need for additional software.

You are right, that's was of the reasons the files were sitting on my disk for 5 years without me watching them because it had the transaction cost of installing TeamView on Linux :-)
But what I really meant was what's wrong with the #10 file on Striker's site.

Anyway, I just checked and the md5 checksum of #10 on Striker's site is different from the md5 checksum of my copy of #10. The other difference is that my files have a timestamp from August 2015, while the files on Striker's site have a timestamp from November 2015.

For what it's worth, here are the md5 checksums for the files I have:
Spoiler

And here are the checksums for files on Striker's site:
Spoiler

The point is that none of them match. This means that either all Striker's files or all my files are somehow corrupted. The checksum would generally discover even a single-bit difference, but I checked and it's actually single-bit corruption in tens to hundreds of thousands of bytes (but still less than 0.1% is most cases, and around 1-1.5% in few cases).
Spoiler

In an audio/video file, if the corruption does not affect file headers or other structural metadata and only affects audio/video data, the worst that could happen is a blip in the audio or a funny-looking video macroblock. It's difficult to say (without checksums from at least one more copy) if it's my files or Striker's that are corrupted, but if you want, I can put up also the other files I have.

I had issue with #1 but found another copy. They're all up there now to binge watch at your convenience.

Now that the snow has melted I've begun getting my rx8 back into shape. With many hours being bored at work, I went through Kane's recordings. Figure I share my notes on what path to follow when tuning the rx8 based on Kane's teachings. Please correct me on anything and I will try to adjust this post.

CALIBRATION:
  1. Make sure you are on a stock tune
  2. Log idle, should read at Kane's known values(based on his experience) == MAF flow of 5.5g/sec at 1.21Volts at stock 800rpm???(Kane didn't specifically say the numeric rpm value)
    1. EX: If it reads flow of ~7g/sec at 1.21 volts the flow at that volt cell and higher voltage needs to be adjusted by the multiplication factor. Don't touch first 2 MAF cells
    2. EX: If both the flow and volts are not at the desired known values then ???????? Don't think he mentioned this in the vids but someone in this thread suggested vacuum leak, I assume other intakes may exhibit this too.
  3. Log and then tune primary injector size to balance out short and long fuel trims
  4. Take Logs at 500rpm intervals up to 3500rpm scaling the Maf within the 14.7 afr closed loop area of the map. Making changes based on fuel trims
    1. EX: if all the logs are off by a consistent linear % this means the injector scaling is off (the injector doesn't change so it is linear)
    2. EX: if all the logs are off by an exponential % this means the Maf scaling is off (the Maf curve is exponential)
  5. Within the 4000-6000rpm range you have to take into account the second injectors kicking in around 5000rpm which will be shown by the injector duration decreasing. Again look to see if you have linear or exponential % differences in afrs to adjust the injector or Maf respectively. All while keeping in mind that the computer swaps to open loop around 4500 which is when changes must be made with respect to differences in the afr map vs the actual recorded afr.
  6. Within 6000-9000rpm repeat same steps for the 4000-6000rpm range
FUEL and IGNITION MAP
  1. Now when sensors are calibrated you can try for more power through tuning the AFR and ignition tables.
  2. For open loop fuel AFRs Kane suggests anything above both 81%load&4000rpm to be in the realm of either 11.8afr(safe side) or 12.1(rich best torque)
  3. For leading ignition Kane suggests for the specific rpm from 56% and higher load:
    1. 6000rpm adjust from 56%and higher by adding a degree of timing
    2. 6500rpm adjust from 56%and higher by adding two degrees
    3. 7000rpm adjust from 56%and higher by adding three degrees
    4. 7500rpm adjust from 56%and higher by adding four degrees
    5. 8000rpm adjust from 56%and higher by adding 5 degrees
    6. 8500rpm (he doesn't show, but states that following the 1 degree per band is relatively safe and you could be more aggressive with a dyno
    7. 9000rpm (he doesn't show like the 8500)
  4. Adjust the trailing ignition exactly by the same amounts you adjusted the leading. Note you can't just copy and paste the leading map.
EXTRA:
  1. Increases the OMP oil injection rate by 10%, doesn't touch the throttle based map
  2. lowers fan temps to Fan 1A to 190degF.....Fan 1B to 200degF.....and Fan 2 to 205degF
