So, you want to be a tuner? Look no further.
Fyi s2 owners. One of the recent (been months since I flashed an update to my exu) updates to mazda edit added a Speed4 ON and OFF to the fan speed/ECT 2d map that is set to about 120F. Just incase you flash and wonder why your car is loud as hell and sounding like a vacuum when you turn it on after a flash lol.
From my last testing it seems that speed1 and speed2 control the low fan speed and speed3 is high fan speed. Speed4 seems to also be high fan speed.
Not sure why we don't have control of the med speed yet

Have you checked if the fans are serial?
Like fan1 is low, add fanx for medium and add another for each fan level selected?
/my $.02 thought is it sounds additive.
Okay so I've been working for the past week or so trying to get my MAF scaled. I think I've got it where it needs to be so I've started playing with the fuel tables to get a little bit leaner AFR in the high RPM, high load areas.
After doing so and logging a few WOT 2nd gear pulls I'm afraid I may be running too lean. I changed the values below 12.1 in the fuel tables up to 12.1 and then made the very highest part 11.8 to avoid going extremely lean at 9000 RPM. However, my logs showed an average "Equiv. Ratio (AFR)" of 13.1 and 13.7 for both runs.
This is obviously waaaay leaner than I was expecting. Is this value an actual AFR or target AFR or what? Should I dial the A/F tables back some?

yep ..... You probably adjusted just one table . You need to adjust all the fuel tables to be the same .
When I think of it, rev limit is changed to 9500, while fuel table only goes to 9000, could that cause this maybe?
ok ... it's not what i suggested .
What about your max. calc load table ? If that is maxed out it will send values lean until load tapers away putting the values back below the max. sending them richer .

Try that .... you will have to readjust afrs as they will richen up after you do that.
I must read this wrong, or are you saying that you tune to a richer AFR than 12.3-12.5?? I've been under the impression that 13.3-13.7 is where you make the most power on NA...? But that its best to not go over 13.5 because of EGT...?
OK, I'll reduce mine slightly then, go for 13.
I have noticed that my ignition timing is not always as nice and incremental. I have changed engine mounts to brand new. Coils are BHR. I have picked up that knock sensor can be a bit sensitive, but on the attached log, I cannot see anything on knock retard. I guess that parameter is dead...?
So; What is most likely causing this, and what to do about it? Unmount knock sensor? Maybe clean crank sensor. Anything more?
And as an alternative to unmounting knock sensor, would it not do the same to set Knock Retard Max table to zero at all RPM?

Knock sensor is useless.

That link will save me a lot of typing time. RBT, LBT define your range of target AFR's.

Still, I have not found out the problem why my AFR dives rich over 8500. I put some time into it for the benefit of the community, but for no good.
1. Tried to increase Calc Load Max numbers. Did not help. But note that logged max load went from 102% to 111%.
2. Changed my last point from 9000->9500RPM. Did not help.
3. Changed last line in "Air/Fuel Gear.." from 9000->9500. Did not help.
So I'm out ideas, anyone else have suggestions what next?
My second problem is that ignition timing goes a bit crazy(WTF circle at Capture 3) at low RPM when I hit throttle. I tried to change Knock Retard Base&Max from -10° to 0°, in stead of unbolting knock sensor. Should I try to reduce Retard Max RPM to 500, or is it impossible to disable knock sensor in software? Would disabling P0300, 301&302 disable it, or does this have another function?
Sorry for the noob question, but Im having a hard time finding something to open the tuning files with - it appears the teamviewer app no longer supports video playback? Has anyone found a player that will work on ipad/android? Or links to videos in another format?
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance
Which files are you referring to? I'm not familiar with what you are trying to open but if they are video files then VLC seems to open quite a bit. It's also supported on many platforms. No idea if it will help, just tryin'

I think he meant the Teamview files. I just tried VLC on them, the 'cone doesn't understand the file format. (at least on Ubuntu). Guess I'll install TeamView on this workstation and see if it can show the files I already have.
[edit] Files open OK with Ubuntu/ TV10. Maybe the download links no longer work?

Ill try downloading TV10 on my laptop and try again.
Thanks guys
So with both STFT and LTFT ~0 across most of the RPM band (1500-4000, 4000-6000, 6000+) I found a weird anomaly.
At ~2500 my STFT will jump to 15. Above and below it is almost zero, but right around that spot it consistently hits 15.
Any thoughts?
