You are talking about the BC being wired backwards? I'm starting to get a little confused. But I agree and understand the concept about Fail-Open for the wastegate. I guess I need to research how these are setup.

I am thinking that the BC is holding the wastegate open when energized because I can limit the boost when it's on. So this implies that it's wire backwards as it should be holding the wastegate closed to build up pressure, right? So you are saying that the boost controller is wired backwards and that the wastegate needs to be changed? Do you think it could simply be the spring that needs to be replaced?

Yes, wire it like an internal WG, where the line out of the solenoid goes to the lower WG nipple to help push it open when the solenoid opens.

I spent the whole weekend moving my girlfriend out of her apartment and never got time to do this, but now I know how this is supposed to work. I love this forum and really appreciate the people and information that is available here.

I won't go so far as to say "they're all the same" but most of them are very close in the way they operate. The settings just have different names. For example, the "START BOOST" aka "SET GAIN" on a Profec Spec II is the same as the "Spring" setting on a AEM Tru Boost. A lot of it comes down to price and aesthetics.

^^^ This is very true.

The solenoid concept is pretty much the same on all of them.
