I like the Scanalyzer live better than the logging of the AP by miles. And I like the fact that you use one brick for more than one vehicle. Oh and I like how easy it is to move map tables to excel and all that Jazz, sometimes it is a real PITA to get the scale and the table to copy and paste at once from the AP.

Everything else goes to the AP.... Unless they don't have one for your ECU.

When I'm just tracking or driving around, I use the SCANAlyzer on the pop-up display in my car.
It's excellent.
That said, the PC logger for the AccessTUNER software is really good - way better than the internal logging of the AP, but just not as convenient.

Hmm. I use Excel side-by-side with the AccessTUNER PRO software constantly and the c-n-p and scaling works flawlessly.
Maybe its a problem with the RACE version.

I haven't done the PC logger for the AP yet - I'll do it in a few when I go out on my next drive.

The issue is not as bad on my big *** Mac monitor since I can open the map all the way up. Mostly it is getting the map and scales all in or out in foul swoope thatthe AP Race won't do.

Have you tried logging with the Live USB? You have to clean up the files some, but the amount of info you can get is very nice.

Ahh, yeah, I didn't account for monitor size.
On my eeePC and my desktop, I can get the entire grid open. The desktop is dual-monitor, so I can run the tuner on one screen and Excel on the other.

I use the gauges from the SCNAalyzer. The live logging from the AP is better because it gets all the same parameters, but allows me to also add the external wideband as a datapoint.

ORLY - any external WBO2 or just certain models? I only saw a few options on the software.

Trying to make an AP tune on an 8" HP netbook can be shall we say; a little annoying.

There are only 2 or 3 listed (LM-1, PLX, Motec, etc.), but they are the most popular models and most others can be run to emulate these.

Hence the 10" NetBook with screen stretching. Dyno days will get your workflow organized pretty quickly.

HAHA - my initial complaints were due to me being on the road for 6 months straight I think, because the only computer I had was the netbook...

Now that I just use it in the car and at the dyno - it's not so bad...but I am a big bitch so I always cry about stuff like that.

Updated for Tune 6.

Looks like I'll do the Boost Controller this weekend and then dyno early next week.

I love this thing.... this car is damn violent; especially with my wife driving - She is fearless (I guess she has a better chance of getting out of a ticket). I asked her to describe it this time around vs the first few tunes (which she drove on quite a bit while I babysat the laptop), and she mentioned that it was smoother, and the car felt lighter.... which to me means that it is starting to make some real power.

She also mentioned that her Speed6 now feels like an econo-box rather than a TC-ed sports sedan...HEHE. I agree, I drove it around the other day when my ECU was bricked - and it used to feel ballsy to me, especially down low - now it just feels slow.

I should add - being able to tune all of the Idle maps has given me 21" of vacuum at 1200 RPM.

So once the WOT stuff is done it will be time to get my idle down lower - for now though I still get 200 miles per tank so I'll live with it until I get some time to play with the idle.

Wednesday - just made the appt.

Did some interesting logging today now that the BC is set to push 10 PSI instead of the 8-9 or so.

I really need a copilot, I am going to kill myself.

They look like power projections against absolute load.

Yeah, based on airflow and actual AFR vs Target - I run a little stupid HP calculator in my software - it's just one of those little fun things I added.

Well, you can tell from its projected load vs. RPM that its a spurious value.
Its similar to the way you see maximum airflow just as you release the throttle on a power run.

I don't extend credit to anyone. I act exclusively on the observations at hand.
Past performance - good or bad - does not figure into my assessments of current performance.

I don't "trend".

How do you guys get worked up about something I called a "stupid little HP calculator"...

This is no real difference than the AP one. I will do one of a dyno pull just out of sick curiosity.
