Thats the limit on the "rich side" measurement. If its richer than that it doesn't register...just 12.05. It's a function of the formula that the correction factor uses. It isn't as accurate below that....

It won't really be a problem, as you want to tune to a level above that anyway :D

What gear was that run? was it one of the runs we did on the dyno? or have you got your CanScan? Normally it would be in closed loop at the start of that graph? ie around 14.6ish?and drop into open loop at 5500ish?

Do you think I should start with loading the Stage2 stock map since I already have a high flow CAT installed? Or just laod the Stage1 map and start tweaking it...

I think I need help, I loaded the Stage 1 base map, and look at the results. Now this is using the v360 software and hardware from Harrison on the CANScan, so Maurice said it shows a richer AFR than his version. Does this mean I was pinging on those high spikes? I felt hesitation during the run at just those spikes. What should I do to raise the AFR, add how many points to which RPM's?

I think I have other problems. I seem to connect with the CZ unit, but I cannot Import Data from the main unit to my PC. I cannot Export Data from my PC to the main un it, I cannot not even compare data. It just sits there saying "corresponding - please wait" but nothing happens. So, I tried to update the CZ firmware with the newer file "GSC01.P" dated 3-12-04. It failed, so I am not communicating. I went to turn "OFF" the CZ unit, and nothing happened. The two lights on the front were still on. The green one on the left and the yellow one on the right, next to the USB connector, where still lit up. Any clues guys?

GOT IT WORKING!

I uninstalled everything, and reinstalled then upgraded the support tool, and the CZ firmware, it was on COM5, selected that - connected and uploaded the base Stage2 map. I'm going to a test drive right now to see how it runs.

I was running Seth's modified map yesterday

I have a laptop with win98 on it. Does anyone know how to change the COM ports for the USB. I tried instructions on Jason's thread and it appears to be for win xp (my desktop works with these instructions). I can get the canscan to work (serial), but I can't get the laptop to communicate with the CZ unit. Any help would be appreciated.

Okay, I reinstalled drivers and software. It now communicates with hardware, but I am confused about the AFR. The info on Jason's page says to x 14.63 to the O2S1 value. Currently this is giving me numbers 100-200. I do not understand why values are so high. The CZ unit is a few months old and the canscan is the CZ version. Can anyone help?

Can you post your LOG file here? You will need to rename it like this: testrun.log.txt

You can upload .txt files but not .log files. I can then download it and rename it to see what you have, then report back.

I have not been able to get the the webpage that is listed in the first post (explaining Canzoomer tuning). Is there a problem with the site or is there a new site for it?

Thanks.

Not sure what's wrong with Jason's site, but I copied awhile back in case it was deleted by him. Here is a temporary location on my server:Jason's Web Page

This data is old, and there are allot of new ideas about tuning the CZ, so read at your own risk.

Thanks for posting the site. I just needed a basis to start. I have been planning on ordering a CZ unit but am waiting until my MS flywheel install.

Quick question, I was reading about your supercat install. Would you say you notice more performance gain with the supercat or with the CZ?

Hey nemesis... i have almost the same setting as you. I have intake, supercat, exhaust...

I currently have the cz stage 1.1 with latest update and 2.0 mapping. I wanted to read jason's web, but from what you're saying about the data being old, i dont' htink i should tune my cz...

Any ideas?
What mods are you running? Maybe you can share your map or direct me to a thread where they have the new ideas on tuning the cz. thanks a lot !!

No, you definitely need to tune your map. All RX8's are not created equal, so if you have the base stage 2 map, it still could be better. I am getting mine back this weekend - can't wait to start tuning again.

Jason's web page is a good start, and the best info that we have out there. My hat's off to him to do that because there is no owner's manual.

Just curious

I noticed somebody mentioned tuning map at 100% throttle and then go back aand tune at 50% throttle. I may be wrong but wouldn't you only be concerned with 100% cause' thats when you asking for the power also at 50% (prob. cruising speed) I would think your looking for something closer to 14.6/1 for better mpg and cleaner burn.

I bought a used unit, is there anyway to verify If it came with a Stage 2 map or not? The seller was not sure, and before I attempt to tune I was hoping to get the updated map.

Thanks

Edit: Oh and my on/off button was missing on my CZ unit is there anyway to verify that its on?????

Yep, does the same thing to me. When you get the yellow mode, unplug the ODB port from the car, then plug it back in again. You might also have to restart the software.
