In this summer heat, don't run hard at 12.5:1 without the meth on with our crappy gas.

Also attach a copy of the calibration you are currently running and
GRAPHICAL datalog of your WOT operation in a couple of sequential gears with
AFR, RPM and MAF or load shown.
A screen shot of your logging software or an Excel graph is best.
Please list any concerns or issues you have noted.

Jeff, I'm using the 7-3b calibration with your turbo upgrade and it's the only calibration I have for the new injectors. I want to send you some data of WOT operation as your instructions ask, but I don't know if I can go WOT with this calibration without knocking. Should I get a richer calibration for you first, or is it ok to send you a datalog without going WOT?

Send me what you can in whatever ranges you feel are safe.
I'm not sure how you could be "knocking" on that calibration because it is setup to run around 10.5:1 with those injectors, but I suppose anything is possible at this point.

Ok, as soon as I get this scanalyzer to connect, I will log some data, hopefully within a day or so if this USB interface thing works. I'm not sure it is 'knocking' or not, but I heard some marbles in a can noise when I went to WOT too quickly and the car felt like it dropped the can, and lost power instantly. I don't know if that is a knock or not, but it sure didn't sound good.

When driving down a hill, I got it into boost and at about 5psi at one point, afr's were high 12's or 13. I will try and get you some data very soon. Other than that, and the hot spot that I'm still waiting on answers to, I think the car runs pretty well and better than ever.

Did you check that the floor pan was clear of the turbo and the heat shielding was in place?

Update: I finally got around to making a custom CAI to make the car run leaner during boost. Install was put together, and I got everything going ok... I have a lot of zippies but those are temporary. Anyhow, I started the car and it started up nice and easy. A little bounce on idle for the first 3 seconds but it went away and never has been back. Tested the car off boost and everything seemed ok.... until I tested boost. AFR was 14-15!!!!!!! That scared the @#!@ out of me so I immediately let off the throttle and new that I couldn't run the same map I was running. I basically went back to map 0 and went through the process of selecting maps again. I ended up with 5a when I used to be 5b. The car runs great in boost, but I'm a bit skeptical about the AFR. In correct gear AFR in boost would be 11.6- 12.5. J.W what everyone else's afr's are in boost.

11.6-12.5 in boost? Isn't that just about perfect?!

yes. mid to upper 11's is great. 12.5 is good too, depending on the rev range (above and below 5.5k)

At least he's not getting 20 AFR like the other guy running FI without fuel management, and thinking it's safe

'Tis absolutely perfect.
However, I would generally shoot for just a slightly bit richer to account for fuel quality and changing conditions.
11.2:1 - 12.3:1 is where I keep my car, but our gas here is horrendous.

Hey MM I sent you a pm and an email about my maps with my new AP. Not sure if you got them or have just been busy. My install is complete tomorrow and received NA maps on my AP instead of FI maps. Can you email me the base FI maps so I can get going? I'll pm you my email again if need be.

Some of the questions are trick questions, be sure to read it carefully. If you fail, you have to start over again. The questions are different the second time around too, so don't count on it getting easier.

I found that if you stare at the questions for a while, the answer will become apparent. However if you stare much longer than that, you might go temporarily blind.

Also there is a 45 minute time limit. So don't take too long answering.

Datalogs?

The last e-mail I got (on 7/27) just has your calibration and info.
Do you still need NA calibrations?

Or, am I missing something?

MM my car's cel went off since I recalibrated to the right map. Can you mask or fix it, I can't delete the cel. I sent you the current calibration that I am running.
