After much reading and watching the video over and over, I came to the conclusion that I'm making this harder than it is. I'm waiting for my AP to get here and wanted to set up my engine in baseline in the meantime.
Questions:
1) Do I need data from the AP before I can set up the engine in Baseline?
2) How do you choose the manifold psi amounts? Kane used increments of 10 and Myriad.... used increments of 6 and 7 with 38 and 63 used twice.
B)Does having an A/T and a redline of 7500 affect these?
3) AP latency is 500?
4) Stock O2 sensor has a latency of______?
5) Target AFR 14.7 throughout?
6) MAF voltage the same on all RX 8's?

I feel like all this is right in front of me and I'm just blind and more difficult than it is.

1. no
2. you use your load scale. use what i used. it'll make sense when you have your ap.
2B. no. not that i'm aware of. it shouldn't.
3. if you log everything.
4. roughly 300 ms
5. you don't need to fill out the fuel map to maf scale unless you want to see your derivation from target afrs. but you will need to see your fuel map for that. so skip it for now. or just next through the wizard part.
6. i don't think you have to enter that when seting up your engine, do you?

Watching the video led me to believe you do. Hmmmmm. More studying.

Yes you need to put in MAF Voltage - and they are pretty much the same for each car.

Chey - the video would likely make more sense if you had your AP; but never fear; if you go to the AP Tunes thread that Myriadshalaks created you can see screen captures of the tune in AP.

It will help you visualize the load scale and MAF scale etc I think.

Well, I tried to use the 04 set up that Myriad had but, it said that baseline had been updated and that was no longer available. I'll try again tomorrow. I left that laptop at work today.
Once I get it, I'm sure I'll feel like a moron.

yeah, you have to go into the edit menu to set the maf volts. i forgot. it's not in the wizard.

the set up engine i have uploaded on teh interwebs no longer works. it's expired.

i may upload a 1.6 version someday.

i've attached the maf volts.

Sorry I have to keep doing that.... otherwise people will keep using old stuff and have bugs in it - the 1.6 will run to October; so that's good.

Guys, its no problem. I showed up late to the game. I'm doing sprints now to catch up. Finally got my home desk top ms access to work. I have the trial on my work comp and no access on my or the fiance's home laptop. So I'll be workin' on it after the 8 month old hell on wheels hits the sack.

Have one of those too. Previous relationship though. We noticed on the lil man tonight, a tooth coming through. Finally got the turd to hold his bottle too.

When I start this tonight, I'm just going to copy Myriads screen shots, correct?

The scales yes - the top and left side of the tables are the scales that define the parameters for the fuel information. On the MAF one the top is the scale..

You use those values to set up your baseline scales - make sense?

Makes sense for the most part. Now here is where I get truly lost. Most likely because I don't have my AP yet. We set all this up, then we take our logs and somehow incorporate those to write our specific engine tunes. I may be getting ahead of myself but, I'm a little lost on tying the 2 together. I'm going to watch the vid again while setting my engine up in the wizard. I know I'm just making it harder than it is. I need to slow down and just simplify it. Stop reading into it all. Thanks for the patience and resistance to calling me a dumb ***.......lol

No problem - this is why this thread is here.

The short version is that you load your tune info into baseline - then it tells you what to change in the AP to get the AFR's that you want to have. You still have to go into the AP and make the changes - but this way you don't have to guess.

Now that is clear cut easy to comprehend with no hiccups!

EDIT TO INCLUDE. I got all the way to the point of Carnie asking about importing logs. WHich I have to wait for my AP to finish that. I was able to do MAF Scale volts but, no gsec. Gsec come from data logs?

I figured it out. I've been in information overload trying to learn. I woke up yesterday
understanding most of it. I should have the AP back in my hands today and then I can learn the rest. OH, and that's awesome!

okay kane, i'm starting 3d tomorrow. do i need my fuel map in baseline to look like my VE table --it's in lambda?

once i do that if i need to, i just load and massage the logs, then hit "autotune"?

then i'll change the ve table by the percentages it gives?

Leave your fuel map in baseline alone.

Load, Massage - AutoTune; then look at the % to add or subtract map; and modify the VE table.

That is it.

Baby steps..... if your tune is good now; and you trust it - just start by researching how far off you are from your target AFR's... you don't have to change anything for that.
