Yes but correct me if I misinterpreted, that was stock Narrow band connected to ECU compared to aftermarket WB? I was more wondering if anyone with the ECU WB module had compared readings to a standalone aftermarket WB gauge. Regardless, I will soon find out! As I mentioned I'm planning to get a second O2 bung for the ECU welded into my midpipe beside the one I already have, should eliminate any errors due to the sensors being in different exhaust stream locations.

My OEM ECU wideband vs ProSport standalone wideband difference is 0.1 - 0.3 AFR

My standalone ProSport vs Adaptronic wideband module difference was 1.0 - 1.5 AFR

Interesting, that is obviously much more discrepancy than is safe for sure.

My OEM readings with the COBB are nearly identical to yours, reads max .3 more rich than my AEM UEGO, I just chalked that up to different locations in the exhaust stream though (stock in downpipe, UEGO in Midpipe).

You could have 20 of them read close to each other and all be wrong. The only point is, we can’t know which is right or wrong without a controlled, calibrated test. If the Adaptronic hardware is the issue you’d think it wouldn’t just be specific to this one version of ecu and would have been exposed elsewhere given how many tuners and builders are using them. On the surface it doesn’t make sense, but maybe.

The AEM vs stock relationship described above ...I've seen multiple times on various setups . The problem is with the Adaptronic ...

Edit : I've also seen the same thing between half a dozen Calibrated dynos and dozens of Rx8s !

I don’t know where the issue is other than you making such a statement pulled out of your butt. Or at least, provide some actual proof to back it up. Your comparison statement is only proof that some other products were reading similar to each other. It’s not any proof for anything other than that. It’s not a defense of or knock on either product. I just need more than people stating their opinion or drawing conclusions without anything to back up the actual statement being made; such as the one quoted here.

So you think all OEM sensors, all those calibrated dynos , all AEM guages are ALL suspect ..................and it's possible that the one Adaptronics setup mentioned is correct and everything else is wrong ! Get a grip man !

You don’t know what the actual numbers are. You’ve also been sniping in here against Adaptronic a lot lately. And now throwing out blatant conjecture with zero proof based entirely on one sole incident reported here. There are some turbos using this.

I’m only seeking a real answer since I actually own and intend to use this Adaptronic pcm. If there’s a problem with this I want to know, but all I know at the moment is one person noted it didn’t match his other sensor reading and he sent it back because the OE sensor couldn’t be made functional, which was important to him. I don’t where the problem is; software issue, pcm hardware issue, wiring issue, sensor issue, etc. Neither do you if you’re being honest about it.

I have a grip. As an engineer it’s quite realistic to have a genuine expectation of more than a feeling or a+b = d mentality.

You seem to think I'm anti Adaptronics . If it proves to be way better than the stock ecu ....i'd be silly to ignore it wouldn't I? But as I've pointed out , I've been burnt before so would really like to see some unbiased information (something I'm not sure you will provide given your attitude) .
The issue Slash had may well have been with that one unit and you may not have it ...all I did was back up his observations with my own . And from those observations made a fairly obvious conclusion! If being an engineer prevents you from seeing the obvious then it ain't helping you much !

Let me rephrase that for more accuracy

Not sure if you’re just losing your touch or if that old bait is too stale.

It’s more likely you being wrong again. History is on my side.

I suppose so. Was just reminded of this exchange after coming across this in my readings of Proverbs:

If a wise man contends with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.

how true and how wise for those who can hear ...

.

W/out taking sides ... I'll leave this right here:
"When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable, But he who restrains his lips is wise." - Prov. 10:19 NASB

Update on my side, bought the wideband module and will be installing that tomorrow. Never got the stock sensor to work with the Adaptronic.

On the other hand, I got some more questions about other sensors for temperature and pressure.

For fuel pressure and temperature, I'll go with the solution from Tuned By Shawn.

I am also looking in to getting the oil temp, oil pressure and coolant temp into the ecu. I am currently using the RacingBeat ash tray replacement (been installed for over 10 years and done by my dealer back then). Can I splice into those wires for the sensors and feed them in to the wiring loom? I probably need the extra small analogue module for that aswell I think.

Curious, do you have another wideband to compare the Adaptronic module to? I would honestly very much like to see this product work.

No I dont , the original plan was to use the stock one for as long as I run the renesis and switch to a wideband when I swap for the REW. But since the stock one wont give a reading, I have no choice to go with a wideband right now. And I dont want to spend the funds to buy 2 seperate widebands, just to compare :p

I assume Adaptronic knows what they are doing and it will read correctly. It is still said to be the fastest and easiest way to get the wideband info into the ECU.

For the record, both the ecu’s that we’re returned are running successfully with the WB O2 device in other RX8s. Neither looking to start crap nor trying to imply anything, but they aren’t having any problem; that’s just how it is.

Looking forward to finally getting mine going, but no word yet on when the engine will be coming back.

you should be able to splice the wires to the ECU directly, but will likely need the sensor output data/graph to correlate the signal to the correct display readings.

Curious, do you have first hand knowledge of this?

One car is local to me and I have been tuning his car in person so yes it works very well. The second Donald from Florida tuned the car. When I was in GA tuning an STL Rx8 he was there helping and said the car tuned up beautifully.. Not sure what else you want.

I was asking Team because I am interested in independent end-user results, not dealer or manufacturer. We've seen plenty of claims over the years from dealers and manufacturers that don't match end user results. So far all I have seen posted is from users that haven't gotten their cars running yet. Also no one has gotten the OEM O2 sensor to work, even though it had been a prominently advertised feature. That feature has apparently been removed from all listings of the product, which tells me it was a genuine problem.

I am not here to bash. I said it a couple posts ago and I'll say it again: I honestly would like to see this work. And by this I mean independent end-user reports. If I see this then I would even be interested in giving it another shot.
