Sorry if you already tried - but why not get one from a wreckers, for a 2009?
Most big yards have a webpage where you can search, and most of the auto starters are in the $50 price range?

I bought a junk yard N3R3 starter off a series 2 Rx8. Unfortunately the nut was so corroded and rust I couldn’t get it off without snapping the solenoid bolt (maybe I could have, but what’s done is done). Anyone know if I can use the solenoid off my old starter on this new starter? I haven’t taken the old starter out yet but it’s off a 2005. Thanks!

EDIT: The old Solenoid worked on the N3R3. Same size and everything.

Slow starter issues : For any of the 2004/2005 rx8 automatic transmission starter issues I purchased a 300 rpm starter from " RX8 performance.com The price was $280.00 and I get $100.00 back when I send back the core making the final price $180.00. The starter is easy to put in and it starts without issue even hot > They treated me right and even sent it out two day delivery.

So there's no difference between a manual 141kw starter and manual 170kw one?
I'm driving a 2004 manual 141kw with a old starter.
Had it changed for this one:
https://www.ebay.de/itm/Anlasser-Sta...72.m2749.l2649
but the lads at the garage said it wasn't the right starter (they didn't say why).

When I do a compatibility check on ebay, almost all the starters show as incompatible with the 141kw version, but fine for the 170kw.
Howecome?

Unhappy 18 teeth???

So I keep seeing a Mitsubishi starter part numbers 28020382, N3H2-18-400B, N3Z2-18-4000 available on Ebay and they claim to work for my automatic RX8 GT 2008. But they are 18 teeth. I read that max teeth are 14. Is the 14 teeth max specific to the manual versions of the starter?

Question Trouble replacing my RX8 starter due to right hand drive Rx8

Hey guys got a right hand drive RX8 so the starter motor is under the passenger side and I’ve jacked the car up and removed this bar that was in the way. But now I’m stuck on how to get the starter out as there is an oil pump pipe by the looks of things right where I need to take it out.

I didn’t think I’d come across this problem cause all the American left hand drive starters motor tutorials and other Rx8 forums didn’t say there would be anything in the way to make it difficult for a starter motor replacement.

Would appreciate advice as the only possible solution I have is removing the engine which I don’t have the tools for.

If you have any ideas or want further information that could benefit you in helping me feel free to send me a message and I’ll send you a photo of what the starter is looking like at the moment

I changed mt RHD starter last year sometime without any issues at all. Assuming the bolts are not rusted solid then this should be a 10 min job. Too bad it did not solve my typical low compression issues though. I'm unsure of what you are saying by having a bar in the way or need to remove engine. Seems unlikey. Not tying to be rude but you are working under the car arent you? If above the car the strut brace would definitely get in the way! LOL 😀 Post up a pic so we can see what you can.

Just a warning for others, I ended up shearing the lower bolt off of my old RX8. The starter was changed near 115k miles.
