Personally, I enjoy spoon-feeding n00bs and watching them crash and burn anyway.

There is nothing quite as self-satisfying as watching someone confirm just how stupid they actually are by refusing the very knowledge they were demanding.

Thanks! I've been working on it!

BTW: Will I blow my engine if I go FI cause I really want more power to race my friend in his 350Z but I don't wanna blow my engine and I heard that I will blow my engine but I don't know if I will or not but the gas mileage sucks but then I take 'em to the twisties and then he'll see what the rx-8 is for 'cause its made for the twisties which is kinda like the RPM thing 'cause it revs to 9k but there's no torque eventhough there's like 215hp at the flywheel there's 0ft-lbs torque and we all know that torque is what you need but a lightweight flywheel will just free-up horsepower it won't add any horsepower or torque but it will make you feel like your going faster but that's just because the engine is reving faster but eventhough its going through the RPMs quicker the car isn't any faster it just feels that way but adding FI will definitely make you go faster but I don't know how much faster it will go cause I need to go faster than my friend in his 350Z but not if I'm going to blow my engine.

Your spelling betrays you MD - a newb who'd draft that wonderful piece of forum content would spell 'egnine' as 'injin' and use 'ur' for 'you're' and 'your' when they really needed 'you're'.

^ Haha! nice...

You're right, DMP, people should have to suffer for their ineptitude. If they don't what drives them forward? Its like so many Pavlovian experiments: without a little negative reinforcement, how will they learn? What will prevent this forum from being a repository of the same question being asked over and over again? (that's a rehtorical question since the answer is obviously that nothing has prevented or will prevent this) I suppose since we have to 'play nice' and welcome every one with open arms into our sandbox that we're doomed to be like Prometheus or Sisyphus. Hey n00bs: if you don't understand my allusions, let me dumb it down for you: ITS LIKE FRIGGIN' GROUNDHOG DAY IN HERE

skip, learn to use the internet, just cuz people do not answer your questions does not mean you have the right to get angry and keep asking.

what eats my lunch is when people ask questions which are EASY to find with either a search, or just simply hanging around the board. And sifting thru webpages for data?? holyhell!! when i was a kid I had to (gasp!) Ride my bike to the Library and check out a BOOK when I wanted to learn.

sigh, i wasnt asking how torque worked, people always get so worked up becasue the exhuast only yields a couple hp gains, what i was saying and asking is maybe the exhaust creates more torque then it does the hp, becuase of better airflow, its all about Hp on this board, hp and weight, and im saying dont disclude torque.. yes, its greatly related to Hp, i see that, i know that, i jsut dont know why so many people are only obsessed with nothing but hp..

No no no. It is not "greatly related" and nothing can create "more torque then it does the hp [sic]".
You don't get it, so you should be "asking how torque work(s)".

An increase in HP *requires* an increase in torque if all other variables remain constant (i.e. RPM).

Mind you we're talking maximum HP when the manufacturers make their claims. A HP increase may only be at a certain RPM range, and therefore the torque increase will also only be within a specific range as well.

Chris...

The problem isn't that you're trying to learn or that you don't know exactly what you're talking about. It's that you clutter up the boards with multiple questions filled with backlashes against people that are taking time to point you in the right direction to answer your questions. Forums and the Internet aren't going to hand everything to you in a neat package -- you gotta work for it a little. You should be reading 100 posts before you post one yourself.

to make power just but another engine in it because the 8's engine that it has can only get you to 300hp and then your ****.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?

You do realize you resurrected a nearly 2 year old thread just to post that don't you?

I still think the 2JZ is overrated. See the other threads on it.

didnt read the whole thread cuz lazy but i really wanna say something about this topic.
From marketing view, they reason why mazda makes rx8 look like what we drive now is to increase their sales. comparing with s2k and 350z, rx8 visually got more consumers cuz its not only a sport car and it also can be daily driven. "yeah, it is a four door family car" .
however, based on the performance, obviously rx8 is not perfect. it doesnt have much horsepower and its not as light as s2k. however, its cheaper and considering about how much money you paid for this car, you should see that it is already good enough.
now you combine these two points, if you gave rx8 400 horsepower and make it handles close to a 230 horsepower rx8, absolutely the price would have been increased about 30-40 percent. Will there still be a lot of consumers buying them?
