Wow, it really is difficult to pick just one, so...

Lowest cost - Pettit rotor backlit radio button.

Low cost - removing the VFAD, mating an RB Duct to my stock intake and dropping in a K&N flat filter.

Medium cost - AFE short shifter with Voodoo Magnum Pearl laser etched ****.

Higher cost - CobbAP Tuner (MazdaManiac) and BHR ignition coils, or Racing Beat gauge pod, or Racing Brake Sport Rotors with Hawk Ceramic pads, or Toyo T1R tires.

From a cost per gain perspective it would have to be a K&N drop in + DIY airbox mod. The RB ram air can be added for a little more $ and is said to improve it even more.

Either that or SS Brakes + good pads + good brake fluid. Adds a lot of confidance having brakes with better than the, already fantastic, feel.

Depends on what you bought the car for. I would say that if you didnt care about the mpg and the speedo being inaccurate, the best mod for the money is wheel/tire combo. If you want to gain over 10% whp, yes 10 percent, you can get smaller wheels/tires by switching to 17x7 and using 205/40 tires. There are several problems with this. Speedo will be off, handling will suffer due to narrower tires. The good is, due to leverage, you will have about 20 or so more whp, lower the car 1.25 inches and still have stock suspension travel, and about 15 or so more wtq also.

As far as other mods go, I did the flywheel and it gave me the most tq of all the mods to my car but have not done anything with the computer. To each their own.

Lol... well we can still contribute::

My best "mod" was actually taking the car to the track and realizing which "mods" were completely useless.

No one likes being told that their money was wasted either, and will usually ignore advice to the contrary

My Greddy turbo - made such a huge difference to the power band.

Never having owned or even driven a turbo car, I had expected the power to be 'just the same' until the boost gauge showed positive pressure, then some action; I never anticipated the huge addition of torque at low engine speeds.
Loved the new low end power, even with substantial vacuum still showing on the gauge, it was a revelation.

Unfortunately it was also a very brief revelation - I was running only a crude imitation of a boost map with my Cobb AP, and even with the boost limited to about 6 psi, the engine lasted olny a couple of months.

9/10, would do it again.

Nothin wrong with reviving old things Iggy.
Does BHR midpipe count?
My only one so far, ceramic pads next.

Lol exactly thats why I am not going to go off and randomly name parts that people have spent their hard earned money on, and I am not trying to be a negative nelly either, at the end of the day mods go hand in hand with purpose. Some mods will never serve the car's purpose.

I love my turbo but I would not say it's my favorite mod. I get more satisfaction from looking at my car.
