Its worth about .3 - .4 secs on the 1/4 mile which is about 3 car lengths . Does not sound a lot but when you track the car it really helps .

and besides, proven by most manulfacures. most RX8 exhaust only give you around 2 peak horse power for at least 400 dollar. that is a bit too pricy in my opinion.
if anything, i would suggest to go for the flywheel unless you want to race in BSTOCK.
in you want to autocross it, get good wheels and tires.

I would say the clear bra. The car is 2 years old and still looks the way it did driving off the showroom floor.

The gear conversion kit. It complimented all the money I've spent on mods and made it even more fun to drive.

FEED 4.777 final drive and flywheel. Excellent combo!

In first gear it'll accelerate as if it had about 10-15 more HP than before...in 2nd gear, about 6-10...by 4th gear, there's no real advantage to a lightweight flywheel.

Best first mod: Lightweight wheels and sticky tires!

First it doesn't cost a ton of labor to install and second, you'll see immediate improvement in acceleration AND in cornering.

Best second mod: lighter weight two-piece rotors and better brake pads. Again, an improvement in acceleration, and easy to install. Better braking never hurts.

Best third mod: lightweight exhaust... again, easy to install, saves weight on the chassis.

After these, THEN attack the flywheel/clutch combination. Seriously... why would anyone go through the stress of installing a flywheel when you can lose 4 lbs of weight per wheel with Enkei RPF-1s in a 19" size, and 6-7 lbs per wheel with an 18" size? More can be saved with the Mazdaspeed 18" forged aluminum or magnesium wheels, if you've got the money!

My Magnaflow exhaust saved about 15 lbs of weight at the rear of the car, and allows the engine to breathe better on the top end.

Aluminum hub brake rotors can save another 2 lbs of rotational mass, which is a lot when it comes to freeing up available horsepower. You can quickly save more rotational weight in the wheels and brake rotors, than with one flywheel... and when the thrill wears off, you can still do the flywheel later!

do you have a flywheel?? if you don't, then you shouldn't say anything. before i had mine, i thought it wouldn't make that big of a difference, but after installin it, you'll be amazed.

How many people have had the Mazdaspeed flywheel installed at a dealership? What's the average cost of the flywheel installation?

That 4.77 rear drive has to make 2nd and 3rd gear feel AMAZING. I went from 3.27 to 3.73 on my Mustang and car woke up. 1st gear went by too fast then! Since first is only used to "get rolling" having better acceleration in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th is worth the effort for serious track days.

+1 for lightweight wheels and good tires. better acceleration and braking, better cornering, better looks (if you get ones that look nice to you lol), can even yield better gas mileage

If you haven't noticed it really depends on what you want to improve.

Do you want to improve the look?

Do you want to improve the handling?

Do you want to improve the sound?

Do you want to improve the acceleration?

It's really up to you and what you want. We all have our opinions.

As far as DMP and his opinion of the flywheel he was there at the dyno day. He knows the truth about my car with the flywheel vs. Thebri with the MS intake, exhaust, and underdrive pulley.

It all added up to almost as much as Kris after he just pulled the room fuse...priceless.
