We installed one on my car. Their is a lot of people complaining about the tips. From what I can tell they are almost the exact same depth as the stock one's and that suits me just fine.

The only issue I see with the set up is it hangs a little low. I would say atleast a full inch lower.

Yeh its a bit lower than stock. Got to be carefull with lowering suspension as well.

My suspension is lowered about 0.5inches and I end up with about 3.8inches of ground clearance. Got to be a bit more carefull over speed bumps or especially when carrying a couple of passangers.

does anybody have this exhaust with the MS Rear? If so... how much further back does it need to sit in order to be flush.

I'd really liked to get an extension welded on before installing it.

I think a CAI for the greddy turbo kit would be welcomed by many. The kit has a wide install base, and there is no options besides home made stuff with a k&n intake and some hoses. Or even hacking up the OEM intake box (which isn't going to be sealed).

Mazsport has one, it is not on their site yet. But is available.

I think a turbo exhaust manifold would be really cool, with a T4 and a downpipe and wasetage flange. Then people can build their own turbo kits. I know I would be intrested, but obviously others should be too.

BTW, has the development of the UTEC for the rx8 been abandoned?

just another update:
i just installed my exhaust a few days ago. it only took like an hour and 15-30 min. i left the midpipe off for now, i go in for my recall on monday. i must say that it is pretty nicely made, and sounds just about right right now volume wise (silencers out, but no midpipe). it only pops reving in neutral to upper rpms occasionally. we'll see how nasty it gets with the midpipe. does anyone know how much it weighs? i forgot to weigh it before i put it on. but it did feel really heavy when i was installing it (by myself). maybe it was my imagination. the tips look perfect in my opinion. good diameter, just a little short. has anyone come up with a fix for the leak between the mufflers and connecting pipe? I also noticed that the plastic does get pretty hot around the tips, hopefully that wont cause any problems. i never really checked how hot the stock exhuast got the plastic. ill let everyone know when i put the midpipe on.

Here is another recording taken inside the car with the windows closed. A bit shaky but you should get the idea.

Thanks Swoope.

THanks O'Renesis.

Much apreciated.

BTW O'Renesis are you happy with the system? Does it drone in the car at all particularly at around 3000rpm? Just my magnaflow copy does that now.

Cheers thanks for the help!

HELP! melting bumper!

hey guys, bad news, i just took a 3 hour road trip and my bumper is melting bad. the tips just dont stick out enough and the heat must be too much. on one side the exhaust surround is just discoloring, but on the other it's warping and getting melting hot. any suggestions? i wanted to love this exhaust, but this is really infuriating that it actually damages my car. help!

the metal exhaust shrouds might have helped, but I couldn't tell you for sure. Just have a muffler shop cut the tips and install longer ones in place.

Yeah, im the guy that was talking to mark (mark@turboxs.com) for a few weeks about getting the exhaust. The one who had the ridiculous paypal situation.

Once again, thanks for the patience through that. I really appreciate the good customer service.

If you guys are ever looking for a sponsorship RX car let me know. I'm a big fan of your products, and would not mind repping for you.
Oh and a heads up, i dont do car shows... and i can't race in hawaii since we dont have a track here anymore. Sponsoring me will actually be quite usless

I'm having my exhaust shop install a 1" long 3" pipe, right behind where the current tip sits, to extend the tips. I'll post pics this sunday after i get it installed.

I have noticed a drone at about 3500 to 4000rpm depending on the amount of throttle at that rpm. The complete race exhaust system (CATless) is very loud and not really suitable for a daily driver, but it suits me because I only use this car on occassion. The main benefits of this exhaust system are the HP gains which are tangible. I will be re-installing the CAT ASAP mainly because of the noise and the CEL which I cannot get rid of. The complete system sets off car alarms and house alarms if revved hard and also attracts unwanted attention from pedestrians and so on. I will let you guys know how the system goes with the stock CAT and exhaust manifold.

This weekend I took a trip to Limerick and back again (about 250 miles) with no issues with the rear bumper. I have about 1,000 miles of mixed driving on this system with no such problem. I do have the tailpipe silencers installed, maybe that will help? Also the air temps here are relatively low about 10 to 12 celsius at present and never gets very hot even in the summer.

P.S. Update: my shrouds have burnt after a track day??

This sounds like a good and simple idea as this will bring the end of the tip further from the bumper and also show off the tips better. I personally might add 1.5 or 2 inches to that 3'' pipe just for the appearance alone. TurboXS, Please Take Note.

Drove mine on a 12h road trip with no issues. Is it up front or behind? Could you post some pics?

If someone would ever respond to my post asking for pics of the exhaust with MS rear.. that would have been great. Then i would know exactly how much pipe i need to weld on. I dont want it to stick out, and i just want it to be flush. Then again... seeing how i'm popping flames, having stick out a bit might be ok.

but then again no ones responding or helping out with that, so i may just wing it with 1.5" and see what happens.

and if anyone wants pics from me after i'm done... i'll be more than happy to post them up and help out whoever is buying the TurboXS Exhaust in the future.
