Don't know if it's the same as USA as obviously mine is a UK/European model.

Either your part number is incorrect or it is different, THE US spec part no. is N3H3-18-8G1A

OK, not to worry. It is a different part number because; either the USA uses a different part? or because it simply is a different part number for the American market?
It would not be possible to know for sure without having the actual part and testing it.
Next week I am going to bring the car back to the mechanic that fitted the TurboXS exhaust system and have the front HO2S sensor checked for any mechanical damage. I will also carry out the recommended electrical testing myself. Hopefully there is a loose connection or something similar.

I read all 16 pages in this thread...So from what I understand, some people are getting cel's and some aern't? Also has anyone had any luck with making the tips stick out more, or isn't it really necessary on the stock rear bumper????? Thanks

If you are getting the CEL for Catalyst Inefficiency, Spark Plug De foulers are the key to keeping the light from coming on typically 1 or 2 will do the trick.

My CEL problem was not related to the TurboXS exhaust system. It turned out that the mechanic replaced the front O2 sensor with a spurious part which the PCM did not like. I replaced the sensor with the correct OE sensor and all is well. Many thanks to TeamRX8 for his invaluable assistance in acquiring the part from the USA and not having to pay Mazda Ireland/Europe an unbelievable $721 for the same part.

I had a spark plug defouler on mine, and it didnt help. The cel stayed on for the duration.

did you have 1 or 2 defoulers? Also, is permrmance affected by the cel being on? Is everyone who installs a midpipe having a problem or it it just some of the cars?

I didn't notice any performance degredation when the CEL came on with the RB pipe. Racing Beat also says that a CEL will come on with their midpipe and that the ECU will not trim power due to the CEL.

I haven't had any luck with two defoulers yet.

The code that comes up with the defoulers is Target A/F feedback system too lean (P2096).

Without the defoulers, I get catalyst sytem efficiency below threshold (P0420).

Will try one as soon as I have a chance to put the car up again.

Swing by an auto parts store and pick one up.

They are referred to as non-foulers or defoulers.



You will need to drill one out so the O2 sensor can fit inside. Use oil when drilling they are fairly hard and thick on the end.

The only way I would buy a TurboXS setup is if they extended the pipes so they clear the bumper in the back. Being recessed is not good especially if the race pipe is used.

Unless a person likes the exhaust shrouds looking like they are coated with tar.

One of the local guys has it with a turbo setup and his shrouds started melting and coming off in layers.

He had to add tips so it cleared the stock bumper.

When he contacted TurboXS suggesting a change for the tips, they didn't sound like they were going to change how they were.

First I have heard of this, I'm NA and have had it for 3 months no issues. But I have seen two turbo's with the exhaust and no issues after 1 month. I know one guy posted on here saying his was melting but never posted pictures. So I can only go by personal experience.

If they are melting it will do little good to extend the tips, Agency power has them sticking out like potato launchers and I saw a few on lifts that had the whole shroud melted.

Did he happen to post any pictures of his melting?

If flames come out between shifts like I have seen so many videos of, the upper section of the shroud gets pummeled with heat. The extentions get the flames to go back instead of just up.
