From what I read they do work in some applications. They will not give the gains they claim.

You really need to know your stuff to know which engine they will work on.

Do the math yourself - they are supposed to move the intake a little further from the engine, insulating it from the heat, cooling the charge. We don't even have a 'manifold' like a piston engine.....

You have a manifold. You don't have a plenum. It is used on plenum equipped cars to move the throttlebody farther away which increases the plenum size and changes tuning. I don't buy into it doing anything on a Renesis.
