Nah, top mount turbo for show... I'll admit in a heartbeat that the top mount kits like Esmeril look about a million times better than the low mount kits. "Wow, where is your turbo??" .... "uh... its down there somewhere, under the engine."

Do a search, lots of talk about both.
Where do you get $15000 for a Supercharger? The pettit is $6200 and with install by Pettit, tuning and a few extra mods its another $1500 and can I repeat... Installed by Pettit! If something was $15k you might as well contact rx7store.net for a 3 Rotor swap that is $15k, they do it for the rx-7 and I called and they said $15k for the rx-8 as well. The only Turbo that cost less than the supercharger is the Greddy and in base form your better off with the SC. From what I've seen the SC is easier and more reliable allthough you don't get as much peak torque but a more constant torque curve.

I do have to add the MM turbo upgrade greddy is a little cheaper but still more involved in an install then the SC is, but it makes great power.

I have been a big turbo fan for a long time but I see the Pettit as the safest and easiest power adder in FI.

I fixed it. Pettit might very well be the easiest way to go FI for a reasonable amount of money, because you can get the kit, installation, and tuning from the same team and its a good setup. Safest is arguable because if you aren't an idiot you can find equally safe FI options without much trouble.
