Stock exhaust question...

Can anyone tell me if the stock exhaust can be taken apart and made into 2 pieces after it's removed? I would like to keep mine after I put my new one on, but I need a way to get it back home.

TIA!

I'm replacing stock with the Racing Beat catback.... so whatever is removed I need to get back home. I was thinking it was all welded together, but I really don't know.

If you have good enough tools / strong enough the muffler can be removed at the pipe where you see the circled clamp. It will not come off easy.

Yeah I was going to say if it's just the cat-back then yeah you could take it apart, an since it sounds like your having someone do it for you, just ask them, and I'm sure they can for you.

I'm doing it myself with the help of some friends, however, I'll be 4 hours from home.

Pick a nice day in case you have to drive home with a pipe sticking out your sun roof, or bring a HackSaw

Any of the ones I have seen have been crimped at the clamp so bad the only way to get them apart was with a saw or a cutter....so don't expect to be able to seperate without wrecking the pipe. Mazda sure didn't want an exaust leak
