Like I said before I would like fuel, timing map change and the capability to change injectors for us Boost Junkies.

posting before reading anythign else- this is going to be done by the middle of 2006 its just a mattter of who makes it to market first now. no rreason the OP wouldnt be able to do it.

"standard maps' work really well in this car- when they are the only maps in the computer to look at - you are thinking of piggy backed maps.

the voltage irregularities thing is really closer to a myth than it is reality. there isnt as much difference- fom the data ive collected from various people- as we were lead to believe a year or more ago

Something else to note...


By now everyone knows of the '05 Mustang's computer complications. It leaves a lot to be desired when the driver demands the most performance from his/her Mustang. The drive-by-wire technology eliminates the throttle cable, and an electric motor controls the throttle blade on the throttle body. The electric motor receives commands from the computer, which senses the gas pedal position. Ford has restricted our fun by programming commands in the computer system to pull the throttle blade back a bit when the gas pedal is slammed down too aggressively; it also restricts the fun when you try to powershift by backing down the herd.

Another aspect to this new computer system is a torque load sensor. Essentially, when the power is increased, the engine senses it and pulls back the reins--effectively negating the gains from the aftermarket parts. From our understanding, just adding an exhaust system will not be a problem, but when you start increasing airflow into the engine, the computer takes over and negates the power increase. The computer goes into a limp mode. Thank- fully, you will not have to deal with that due to the many aftermarket computer-tuning companies out there.

just curious but has anyone come out with a full EMS like AEM or Motec or anything like that couldn't that solve all of our problems with the stupid overly inteligent ecu. btw i hate adaptive ECU's also 1 random question do we have a returnless or returned fuel system?

It will be increasingly difficult to build complete standalones for street cars. Traction control, ABS, immobilizer, electronic throttle body and other functions are integrated into the factory ECU. This isn't easy to replace, nor why would you want to? The factory ECU is totally integrated, and powerful. Reprogramming it makes a lot more sense than wasting money replacing it.

The number of flashes are pretty much endless. There isn't a limit as to how many times you can reflash this chip.
Japan8 is correct about the factory ecm, it is powerful enough to handle quite a bit. It's just a matter of understanding it.

A unit that is adaptable to natural aspiration or forced induction needs is all I'd ask for. As you can see, there's a huge market amongst the community for whoever can come out with this.

Guess you're located in the USA, but the device could easily have an overseas market.

Right where I live there are many owners that would rather increase performance through software than go Forced Induction.

what I like to see is a chip or flash for a car that has every bolt on there is out ( header, full exaust, intake, etc.) and one for a street portet engine.

Are there any guys in the Orlando, Florida area that would be interested in allowing us to use their vehicle(s) for testing? It may be a modified vehicle or stock (doesn't matter at this time). It may be another week or so until we're ready but I would like to start to line things up.
