I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I think the front end, especially, is the car's best feature. The stern is less so, but I'd never, ever call any part of the GTO "ugly"... BLOATED, maybe, but not ugly. I don't think that any styling aspect of the GTO is as bad as, for instance, parts of the RX8. Let's face it, parts of the '8 are a little jarring to the eye, especially the car's butt and the c-pillar treatment.

Thanks,
the greddy turbo is way to small and the stock rx8 computer is smarter than most humans. you could do it with lots of cash on a renesis, but weak aftermarket means there isn't a cheap way to the 12 sec barrier.

Get something with AWD if you want to crush more expensive cars in drag racing

OMG.

That is hands down the best thread revival I have ever seen. Usually it is just one of us goofing off, or a newb that doesn't notice.

But the OP!!!!!

That's priceless

With enough money, any car can beat any the expensive supercars. With the avg car price in the 30k range, you can buy yourself a $1000 rustang and put 30k of mods in it, or do the same with a civic... it still isn't going to make anyone envious.

hahahaha, I saw the original date and sat through and read the whole thing (for pure entertainment haha).

Busted out laughing when I saw the OP revived it.

BTW, do we have a renesis 8 in the 12's yet? lol

I just hate people dump a pointless question leaving us to discuss about it to death and never check back.
its like asking how can someone send an rx8 to the moon.

you know what its funny. Everyone on here that has the power to run 12's wont even time their car. We always get the lame excuse "THE RX8 ISNT A DRAG CAR"... But when they were stock the went to the drag strip every weekend ?! lol. wtf

adrians car that ran a 13.1 with the greddy kit had the stock greddy snail, no cold air intake, and was not even using cobb AP. I think he had about 270 whp. 290whp with a good driver will get you in the 12's

Most of the time, people dont build RX8s for drag anyways. Closest thing most people will build it for is a street car. However, after dumping stupid money into their cars, a lot of people dont even find it worth it to bring it to the drag strip and risk breaking something in order to acheive bragging rights of a 12 second car... If that makes sense.

I do know what you mean though, If I had over 300whp, I would want to know what my 1/4 times are.

you can break it on the street just as easy as breaking it on the track.. they make that lame excuse alot too. lol. only difference is.. its more embarrassing at the track I feel like timing the car is just to measure performance. It doesnt tell everything about the car, but it tells alot concerning speed and acceleration. Someone with cobb ap could a least use the quartermile timer on the unit and time their car. STOPPED BEING SCARED. YOURE GUNNA BLOW YOUR APEX SEALS ONEDAY ANYWAY!! lol

Haha, next season if I have a solid enough tune; which I should with the AP I'll run a quarter mile for you... but you may be dissapointed as elevation here is quite high (1600ft above sea level). Other than the drag strip here there is only autocross.
