Dual Air Intake

So I talked to a friend of mine about RX-8's the other day and he was talking like he drove an 8 with a dual air intake system in it, and that it increased the performance of the car ten fold (prolly a lil over exaggerated). This makes sense but my question is:

How the hell can you fit another intake system in there? Where would it go? (he said something about cutting holes :X )

Has anyone here done this? (Can you post a DIY?)

I searched the internet for the answers to all these questions but came up with nothing. I know this is out on a limb but i'm trying to find something unique to do to my car so don't flame me pl0x.

ummm...any intake for the car no matter how much the manufacturer claims makes little difference on the 8. The Racing Beat w/duct and AEM are probably your best choices.

you ask and you shall receive.
I'm sure this gave the guy all kinds of crazy horsepower, especially considering the high-end super light weight materials used.

Brice: the "murdered out" style is his Version 2 model, it's probably like an extra $50.

If two intakes are better than one, then three MUST be better than two!!! Anyone want to flip me the bills for R & D on this project?

No, Four intake is better than three. Hell, No intake should be best then ?

Seriously, tell your friend that he can go suck it. Yep, I said that.

it got the looks. But curious with the engine heat, still be taking HOT air instead of CAI. IMO

And here we go again.

Personally i would have used a "Y" then run the two filters. If it looks symmetrical, it will perform better. I'd say at least 15 fwhp more. It worked on my friends civic and he runs 14's!

Lol tell your buddy to read up on fluid mechanics and how air is becoming ridiculously turbulant at that joint. Also, tell him to read up more about the suction pressure between the two filters is actually creating a vacuum that loops from one filter to the next. He is actually pumping less air in that engine that he thinks. lol *sigh*...

When he talked about it he told me that the additional intake was on the left side of the car. Does that bring any additional ideas? :P
