Having not raised the price on these in over 4 years it's caught up to us and we must.
Starting Sept 1 there will be a small increase of $15-$20.
Haven't done the final figuring yet.

The S1 still seems to sell.
We still produce them with the same materials and fine machining.

Orders made before the inctease will be honored even if we run out before then.

Installed my AF short shifter a couple of weeks ago... I bought it second hand, but other than that, it is a great mod that I should have done a lot sooner. It's also nice to know Axial Flow is only 12 minutes from where I live.

Geeez, I haven't been around in awhile and it feels like I walked into my old bar/hangout and nobodys there.
Well Teamrx8, Brutis, Charles Hill maybe a couple others, it's like "Cheers" has moved.
I guess nothing lasts forever.
It's Mazdas fault, they stopped making the last cult car.

Besides I'm gonna bump my own thread

A few are still hanging around. But since you bumped this, do you have the SS for the series 2 trans still available?

Yes and no.
I have two but don't have the spacer plate they need.
I can't find any around here nor can I find the program.
My dealer in the UK has some still.
I don't think I'll make anymore, they don't sell well and they are alot of work.

I found plates that just need a little mill work.
There were 3.
So now there is ONE left.
It will be gone by the time the sun comes up.
If someone wants an S2 speak up.

I'm getting all kinds of Email wanting S2 shifters now that there are none.
Seems guys are putting S2 trans in thier cars and they have to buy shifters
feom the parts dept. They would rather buy mine.
I will only make more if I get 10+ confirmed orders.
It took 3 years to sell the first 100 and I will not do that again.
Lets see who shows up. They will be $310.
They will have to be paid for and it will taake about 4 weeks to make them.

bump for this!

if you think you want one, get it. hell if i thought i was going to get a s11 tranny i would get one just on speculation!!

the product is second to none, and the customer service is just as good.. just got a small rattle in my s1 shifter after ~ 40k miles, the last 1k miles have been mostly track.. email to richard had a new, i guess improved/different color piviot ball to my door in 4days..

btw, the shifter has been in the car since the second group buy back in 05 i think it was. so about 100k on the shifter.

richard, what is the color deal.. white, then yellow now black?

thanks so much.

Well I can't remember what the white one was but the yellow was Kevlar and to brittle then came the black (Delrin) which was OK, then the black which is now MDS impregnated Nylon of a certain mixture. It's the same stuff they use in dragrace superchargers to seal the edges, Watch them close and you'll see them restrip blowers every round. Of course they can do that while someone else is changing pistons and bearings. And they call that fun??

thanks so much.

Good news. If you've been waiting for your shifter it's going out.
Last parts are coming off machines now.
I need to QC and assembale whichmay be done today if not it will go out in the AM.
I need to say I'm very sorry for the delay, I've always tried to service you as best I could. This was a major failure in our shop equipment and took too long to fix.
I can't even blame it on China "cause it was made here. Admit it was lack of maint
or not knowing what the hell I'm doing.
Thanks for waiting and amazingly not even complaining much.
Richard

PS I can now get back on the S2 work.

Every MT RX-8 should get this mod.

Thanks for a great product Richard!

Yes, they've all shipped. Including one to Australia and one to Iceland.
I think that's only the second one we sold in Iceland.
Now there are only 15 left on the shelf, for awhile anyway.

Thanks to all who waited.:ylsuper

"Huston we have a problem. " The shifters we just sent out might not fit in.
Seems the shop who did the work on the baskets left the brouch part out.
The radius on the pivot pin boss is to big and needs to be cut sharper. All you guys who just waited so long for your part will have to send just the basket back to me. You can send the whole thing if you want but the basket comes off by hand. You'll have to remove the boot sleeve first but it to comes off. It is held with a dab of super glue but just force it off.

Also is there anyone close to Simi Valley with an S1 Rx8? That can come by and let me try a shifter in it. I no longer have an 8 or this wouldn't have happened.
IF YOU KNOW OF ANY CALL ME PLEASE AT 818 974 7300 OR eMAIL rap@axialflow.com

Thank you
