Australia is open. We used to have Hymee but Mark had some domestic problems. We are all pulling for him, but right now it's open. R-magic has not really commited to the S2 nor has Pettit. We have to give them rights to first refusal though.

We know that Mazda spends alot on rotary replacment yet they claim they will still make them. Who knows?

Hopefully we can make it up on the MX5 kit which will come out in a few weeks.

We are testing the S2 kit right now for stroke and will be making it shorter.
It's just days away.

This should be final.
I'm going to produce a couple of tools to make the install
just a drop in.

The parts for the S2 shifter are getting outside oxiding others are being finished in house. We intend to ship next week. The price will go up to $285 on S2's only.
We will still take orders this week at the old price. If you do go that way be sure to say your order is for the S2 so we don't get confused. When we get it on the website it will be at the new price.

There is an S2 running local with an Axialflow shifter.
It was an undertaking but worth it.
We got what we wanted; the axialflow feel and an install that can be done at home.
I have to thank Izzy for his donation of his car and time. Not to forget ZumnRx8 who r&red things a dozen times.
The poor guy had to travel up here about 5 times till we got it right.
Production pieces are being machined. We had to hold final design on some part until we had beta testing.
Only a spacer plate was made wrong and I have to take responsablity for that.
I made it on the Bridgeport by hand and somehow did the math wrong. Two of the holes half a diameter off. It's the first time since my stroke that i ran a machine. At least I didn't wind up in it.

I feel so good that it's done, I'll hold the old price for a few more days. When it gets posted on the website that's when the price goes up.
Thank you all for waiting, you probably thought it would never get done.

Is a syncro saver still recommended with this shifter or is it built into design?

Can't believe my thread is on the second page.
2 months and no comment?
Guess that's because everyone is mad at me because their shifters are not out yet.
They were all finished on the lathe today. People who know I've been sick should know that I am running machines again. It sucks, my feet are killing me but feels good to make parts for you guys.
Tomorrow we will clean them all up and QC them. The packages are all made out and we will fill them and take them to the PO.
I'm real sorry we were out of them for so long. For a few months we hardly sold any and I was going to stop making them. April and May are back to old numbers?? So we made a good batch, now lets see how the S2 holds up. The first batch has sold well and there are only 18 left. If they continue and the Rx5 starts to sell we will be alright.
The Mx5 guys are kind of cheap when it comes to shifters, they've had cheap imports on the market for years. We bought all the ones on the market before we went ahead with our kit. We felt that all the imports were the kind that didn't even fit, had no reverse lock out, made the shift longer and other things that made them throw aways or put on some shelf. There were no keepers in the lot. If there were we would not have gone into that market.

Holy Honda! I was on the fourth page.
Tell me you haven't forgotten me.

Anyway if you've been waiting for an S1 shifter they will be ready Monday.
There is still demand for S1's and very little for S2's.
I sure got the inventory wrong.
All is well now order away.

I thought I'd bump this thread since while it is long it has a lot of info in it. The new one I started the other day showed me there was alot of new S1 owners out there who never heard of the shifter. I haven't been doing my job on the forum lately and I forgot I have freinds here.
This thread has about 2 or three negative comments in it which is remarkable for any product much less an aftermarket one. It will show that we've been around awhile and always given service to owners.
without reading the whole thing I think it has some good hints in it too.

I wasn't aware of any negative comments, sounds like an error between the seat and steering wheel.

Short shifter is NICE!

Much shorter throws and more precision in the shifts.

Like I said I didn't read the thing over, it's to damn long. Somehow in memory I think I had a complaint or two. Although I only remember ever taking one back and that was because his wife didn't like it.
All in all this is a this has been a well accepted product and we've sold alot of them. Nobody wants to go back to stock. On top of that they sell used for a good portion of the original price. Most resales are when someone is selling the car they take it out. You will not get more for the car but you can get $200+ for a used shifter. You can't name another aftermarket product with that much return.

Thumbs up

Well, I finally wore out my AFSS. It took 250K miles to do it though.
Richard had me send it back in to get rebuilt, something he says we need to be doing at 100K miles BTW. He measured it when it arrived and it only had 5 ten thousands inch wear on the ball. The lower bushing was completely gone which explained the sloppiness.

It is now back in and rocking again!! I love my AFSS!!

AFE rules!

I really was interested in seeing that shifter with so many miles on.
There was no wear on it to speak of.

Anyway all back orders have been filled and the shelf is full of S1 shifters now.
I don't think there were any blems this time but they are not all put together yet.

I've had this for 3-4 years now. This is a mod I often forget about doing, since it's a mod that makes the shifting as it should be imo. I like how the reverse needs a tiny bit more force and will to get into, and the confidence inducing 2>3 shift. Highly recommend it to anyone that still haven't made the leap.

Also, the install is n00b certified by me

I just got mine in the mail yesterday. Install was easy as pie. The shifts are so precise now. All the sloppiness is gone. Everything is rock solid. Transmission noise is increased, but I actually like it. Overall it improves the driving experience exponentially.
