Ohhhh. Alright, my bad. I'm a little tired and not feeling too well. I probably misread something. Anyway, that's awesome. Hopefully we can get results with the greddy setup soon. Thanks for the info.

looks great and sounds good but I'm worried about the blue colour. does this show a flow restriction? my std exhaust only changes colour where the exhaust gasses hit the back of the can and have to turn 90 deg. this would sugest to me the gasses are being restricted and held back at this point.

Remember that renwar1 had the 206 HP uncorrected car, or 197.76 SAE Corrected on 2/26. I had 180.5 SAE corrected.

Why would I stay the same while he dropped, when he did nothing to his car and I added the midpipe? Confusing isn't it?

I dynoed 181.27 SAE corrected. If you look at my graph, the first three runs were from two weeks ago, and the last three were from today and with the midpipe installed. The only other mod I have done in those two weeks were the tires. I went from the stock Potenzas to the Pirelli 245/40R18's. They are about .3 inched smaller in diameter. I don't see how that could effect things.

I find it hard to beleive that I only gained .77 rwhp But, think of this, what if I actually gained what renwar1 lost? If he lost numbers and I stayed the same, maybe I actually picked up 9 RWHP. That was about his drop I think. Why didn't I drop also? Was the dynojet on the blink maybe? I can tell you that my butt dyno says I got more than .77

Go figure this one out...
Did you do it on the same dyno? Might be the problem if you didn't, but I dunno.

Same dyno, but a different day

I should have done this the same day. The proof is in renwar1's dyno results. He dropped 9 HP while I stayed the same - hence I actually picked up 9 HP.

The last four tanks of 92 octane gave me an average of 18.8 MPG combined city, highway, and dyno driving. Now I just need to tune this beast. I'm looking at either the CZ or the E-Manage. Anyone have one they want to part with?

I'm averaging around 19-20 now. I'm getting ready to start tunning next, so hopefully I'll be doing even better...

Thanks for all the info Nemesis.

Just ordered the part today. I was thinking about the RB cat back at the same time, but will see how loud the system is with the RP cat alone.

The sound is mellowing out a bit. Maybe the CAT is getting seasoned or something. Early on I had a slight smell, but it was small, and now that is gone. I really think this is an excellent design, except for the hanger problem. It definitely opened up the flow. No CELS at all so I'm a happy owner. Now, since I have eliminated the real problem with the 8's entering the US ports by junking their low life span CAT, I need to lean out the mixture above 6200 RPM and reclaim my HP. That is next in my bag of tricks.

i wish they would've added the hanger..i mean how hard would it of been for them to put it on. ah well

They said the hangers destroy the boxes during shipping And that the weight of the unit did not warrant adding one. As for the tune it's a CZ. Taking delivery today of a used one from a forum member that sold his car.

Nemesis, you do have a CanScan, right? Also, any plans to re-dyno with your pal to re-test the gains you 'saw' with the this? I'd sure be nice to have a confirmation on that!

Yes, I have one. I'm going to dyno again one day to confirm my suspicions, but I might start my tuning project first. I'm at 23K on the engine, and I don't want to stress the engine too much with dynos. I'll be pulling my plugs this weekend to inspect them also. My car is running really good right now, just too rich. I'm on the M flash also, so I'm debating on getting the N before I start my tune. Man too many decisions to make....

The main problem was that I should of pulled back to back dynos with the midpipe installed on the second run...

If the high flow yields around 9 hp how much do u think the mid-pipe will yield, cause oviously its more than 9 right?

I have inconclusive data results - so, it is really hard to say without me going back and doing two back to back runs with and without the midpipe. Since I torched off the hanger from my OEM pipe, I cannot use it anymore, so it seems we will need someone else to try this to get accurate resuilts.

What I can tell you, is the butt dyno loves this design. There is more torque, I just don't know how much. Sorry

I'm supposed to be getting mine this Friday. My car is completely stock and has ~6500 miles on it. I've been thinking of taking it to A-Spec here in Chicago to get a back to back comparison. Will just have to see how much this costs first, as I was planning to do the installation myself and I really don't have that much money to throw around for labor I don't need.

I just had mine installed. Definitely more power, but I'm not sure how crazy I am about the sound yet.
