REVi Intake Installed--First Impressions
With the help of Jenkins-Crew, I installed my RB REVi Friday afternoon. The first time I drove the ride felt much smoother. The cooling fan has yet to turn on and the hood is barely warm after long drives. Until tonight, that was all I noticed.
Driving home from a meet, I met up with an eclipse on the road. The driver seemed to want to play, so I obliged, and we played around for a little bit. Not only did the 8 take the eclipse on the curves and straightaways, but I slammed him on acceleration. Maybe a fluke? Possibly...
So I exited on a road that has a few lights with long straight stretches in between. Suddenly this car actually accelerates FAST! I don't know if it's the intake or if it's all in my head, but the car really does feel faster in the lower RPMs. Anybody else feel this way?

Can you even notice a sound increase from the REVi intake with your midpipe/exhaust ? I just installed the REVi intake and I have a Greddy SP2 w/ RP high flow cat and I cant feel or hear anything. I just hear a slight whistling sound when I accelerate and I'm wondering if that is normal at all.

Sounds like one of those fisherman stories. I heard those Texans can tell a big one.
Your not suppose to brag about your kill against a 4 cylinder Eclispe. LOL
You've only freed up the back end. Now with the Revi intake your can can take full advantage of the flow. Your restriction is gone so yes you will feel a difference as you have more torque and HP. With your Mods you should be faster than a stock Eclispe GT.
Just wait until you get your RB Ram intake. You'll be telling us how you kill S2000's and STI's.

I installed the RB intake first and I noticed the engine sounded deeper and when I installed the exhaust it was really loud, my friend noticed it was louder than his HKS system on his 8.

One problem I have is that the sound tempts me to step on the gas pedal deeper than before.

no, the dealer should look at the revi with the fresh air duct the same as just the revi itself. although thats cause I dont think a lot of the people working at the dealer would know the difference, or care....they just see an after market intake.
now if you have a 'cool' dealer like I use, where I have made friends with my tech it might be a little different, depending on what he things, just as an example, I have 2 friends, both with b18 civics, one has a cold-air intake, the other a short ram intake, both from the same maker. they both go to the same dealer when they have a problem cause of a tech that works there. they arnt under warrenty but the tech had said that if they were, he woudlnt think twice about the short-ram intake, but would look deeper into the car with the CAI if they had any kind of problems. he said that cause the chances of sucking up water or other things of the ground were 'better' with the CAI than then SR.
just my .02 but who knows, im not a honda guy.
