Need to do some searching and reading.
Typhoon is crap.
No intake system for this car is going to give you and real performance gain............period.
Some will even detract some HP.
Do I like my REVI with duct.......yes, but I didn't really buy it with much emphasis on performance. Cool air into engine and sound where 99% of reason.

Momentum Keeps Me Going
I like my revi intake and duct. It sounds nice, and if I'm going 90+mph the car feels a bit more responsive and flexible. What I don't liek is how it opens the intake tract up to water during heavy rains during hwy driving.

^..............you drive your car in the rain.................shame on you! I'm kidding!
Yes, but I don't think it really opens it up any more than any other intake.....and for quite a few I would dare say it's less.

You're so predictable Team , and like my wife, see thinks she knows it all too, until the damn truth interrupts her fantasy--> The Mazda RX-8, Jack K. Yamaguchi ISBN 4-947659-02-5, First Edition c 2003 --> yea it's in there

yeah i checked up on that resonator in the forums and found all the possible answers and got nowhere.
reduces power, doesnt reduce power, doesnt increase sound, increases sound and a mix match of sound/power loss/gain.
so in conclusion. im leaving mine in because i dont want to fiddle around and find out theres no point of removing it unless someone tells me exactly what it does and proves it.
lol

Not nearly as predictable as yourself parroting something you read somewhere while lacking any real knowledge or experience. You want to quote literature? This is straight out of the service literature and Mazda is generally not shy about bragging every power detail they can. Which one is right/wrong?
If you want to talk reality, funny that the Pro Mazda Formula cars wouldn't want an extra hp or two when it could have easily fit under the engine fairing. If Daryl Drummond told you this would you also say he is FOS too? Never mind that once you install the RB duct and intake box that you already altered all the acoustical resonance dynamics.
Stick to reading your books, Poindexter ...

"Downstream of the cleaner is a resonance chamber that acoustically pumps in more air and adds a few more horse power." Yeah I'm sure Yamaguchi just made that up for something to say. Esp considering how the S-DIAS is (one of) the RENESIS's core power add techniques. Makes so much sense they'd lie about ...not.
'The reality is' some technical writer hadn't a clue, you take that as gospel and heaven forbid your irascible self would ever cede a point, however tentative your position may be.
Then your coup de gras is calling me names? ... Come on Team... get real ... give a hug...
