That is usually true due to increased scavenging during intake/exhaust port overlap. A good scavenging exhaust will help create a suction effect on the chamber which at overlap will help pull more intake into the engine. The easier the intake flows, the more air will enter at overlap. The Renesis however has zero overlap.

Dyno with only the cat back

The cat back exhaust made a whopping 2.5 hp and negligible torque gain. I tlooks and sounds good but did not do much else. When i get back from Road Atl, I'll see if I can find the old sheet but can't promise I still have it saved. Someone else asked about correction factors from the first baseline and todays run. I do have that info and will post it for all of those who find it important or doubt the honesty. I really have nothing to gain by blowing smoke, I am however very proud of the power the car is making and am glad to share the experience. I am off to see the new 3 rotor LMP2 Courage go fast. Good night all.

Installed mine today. A big improvement over the K & N Typhoone that I'd fabricated a cover for to cut the noise.

I don't know if it's making more power or not, but it seemed to spin up a bit quicker at high rpms (8k+).

It looks cool and sounds cool too...my big hope is for a little boost in gas mileage.

I'll bet Nemesis has grown weary of waiting for both my aluminum PPF and header so he'll seek those out elsewhere.

The PPF is getting some additional gusseting done and the final fit is coming up. We wanted to do some stress testing but decided we better strengthen up some stuff on it, first. So far, the PPF is able to be installed with one hand lifting into position and the other installing the nuts. And that is with the 3" exhaust still bolted on.

The header comes next. Fanman was nice enough to loan me his factory piece and even paid for the shipping without question. We have some great members on this forum.

Sorry about the minor topical diversion.

The REVi Intake would be greatly benefited by a header. I know Charles has one in the works, and he is right about me wanting one soon , but I was looking at the Feed Equal Length Runners Header...

Back on topic - the Racing Beat Intake is going to improve MPG if you can keep your foot out of it. Last night just crusing around town, I hardly have to push the gas pedal at all to move the car. It's breathing allot better. Has anyone thought about a home made ram duct while we wait for RB to finish theirs?

Are you saying that some people are adept at keeping the caravan together and others are a little more "competitive", shall we say?

BTW, to my knowledge, I am the only one stupid enough to slap a light PPF on his car and run the risk of drivetrain damage even if SR was falsely credited by the idiots at Sport Compact Car mag a couple months ago. I wrote SCC an e-mail on that.

PPF = power plant frame. Its the brace that holds the trans. and diff to the chassis.

I couldn't stand it anymore, all this talk about the REVi and I am itching to get one! Actually my wife is buying it for me for my birthday, THAT was a surprise!! :D

I ordered mine this afternoon, they said they will be able to ship it out on Tuesday. They also predict that by monday they won't have any left and will be waiting for the 3rd run (or was it 4th? don't remember). I asked about how the CAI was coming along and if we would be expecting it by end of summer, I was told that they have barely started R&D on it and at this point he did not know. He did mention that like the REVi they are not going to rush anything. I told him that was good to hear, worth the wait for awesome products!

Being in Toronto, Canada I asked if they can deliver other then UPS (UPS charges ridiculous rates for brokerage fees cross border as I found out with the oil and rad mesh covers), they are shipping it USPS Air for me.

I can't wait!

Just ordered mine from Jason at Rx8Store.net, can't wait to get it. If anyone ordered through Jason, how long did yours take? I need instant gratification.

Could anyone post a picture of the black piece that you removed, I would greatly appreciate it before I do the install. Thanks

I'm guessing he means the tray under the std air-box? if it is it wouldn't help air flow. it diverts hot air away from the radiator. removing it will just heat your intake air more.

I'm surprised that Mazcare only got 2.5 RWHP from the Cat back. however each car is different. With the combination of RB intake and Cat Back you probably regestering 5 HP from the REVI.

So the intake is out of the bag now! 4-5 RWHP with the REVI across the board.

Like I said it's so nice to cruise at low RPM in any gear now because you have the power to accelerate with out downshift.

I am wondering if Charlie did any dyno tests of the M versus N flashes. I discovered the very same difference you are describing, Razz, by just upgrading the flash to the N. Unfortunately I now need to re-examine the nitrous situation. Hopefully it is just that my spark plugs are cooked. I have 37K mile on them and two days of hard racing with about 40 pounds of nitrous passed over them, too. Good chance they've had enough.

Well, I got my intake in the mail yesterday and it looks like Murphy came along in the box. Check out pics at http://www.justindotcom.com/Racing%2.../AllItems.aspx . It looks like the MAF mounting tube had a piece that cracked off. I searched the box and it wasn't in there so it must have happened during the fabbing or something. I removed the MAF sensor and placed it in here to see if there would be a sealing problem. The seal seems to be fine so I'm going to install it tomorrow and call racing beat monday for a replacement. Anyone else have something similiar happen?
