If you are referring to this part of my thread:
Header
(can cause warranty hassle, and can fail emissions depending on regulation requirements)
Then you just need to read more completely. Specifically, re-read the last 4 words.

Headers are not CARB legal in CA. Some other states may have restrictions against them too. Most states will not have any restrictions against them.

Look up your state's emissions laws to see what is legal and what isn't.

Because it will fail pretty quick, and then you won't pass emissions in most states. If it's a sniffer test, you probably won't pass even if the cat hasn't failed yet.

Well i know in Nevada there's no sniffer test, and i know i should be able to force the smog check.. But about how long would it last? Because i've read that people had there's fore like i wanna say 20k miles or something, and that it was only one batch that went wrong and it was fixed. I'm just wondering to see if the purchase would actually be worth it. And if it's not gonna be worth it, then i'm just gonna start looking into a different midpipe..

Have anyone did a dyno test before and after installing the RB headers. When I come back to the states I'm gonna have pretty nice sum of money and I wanna get my best bang for my buck, Im thinking intake and full exhaust system to start out with when I get back. Also how does the headers sound? I would love to get that low to mid range rpm rumble while driving around post

if you are dead set on getting a header for the car and are looking to choose from the available options, grab yourself an ebay header and save yourself 400 bucks for sound.

You should look into trading in the car for a Subaru if you want that rumble..

At a local racing event i talked to an RX8 owner who said what a lot of racing teams do for extra power from headers is cut them and add a foot of length to each section. Just wondering what peoples thoughts were on this/if anyone has one it.
Thanks

Black Halo Racing (BHR) is in the final stages of developing a long tube header. It may be worth it to wait for that rather than modifying something existing.

several people who've been waiting 2+ years for "it's coming soon" might disagree

So what would the difference be between racing beat and BHR? Assuming BHR comes out with one?

Knight sports even spread all 4 runners but its still not much better than racing beat tube. (Around 1-3 hp more)

Unless it can make at least 10hp or more any time of the day, it's not going to be worth it.

^^^ For people who have some extra money to spend and want to do every NA bolt on possible, a header sounds fun...

With my new engine I want a new header, but BHR's isn't out yet and I don't want to break the bank on RB's $500 header with only 4 hp... :/

Is that 4hp with the supporting mods and tune or just a base 4hp bolt on?

I think a search can yield results! Off to Google!

I think we've been over this before and it's about 20 hp. Well, with the exception of a "street port" if that really makes any gains on a Renesis.
