Ok I just want to make this clear for myself and some others in here.. If I buy your Cobb (Withouth the custom Calibration package), with a little bit of tuning understanding and the time to do it right, I CAN TUNE the Cobb MYSELF while I'm driving right? ( And I mean tune it like you would tune it and send it back, maybe not as skillfully as you but you get my question right) OR do you use a separate program (like Tunerstudio for example) to edit parameters and then store them on the Cobb AND THEN to plug it in the ODB2 and Flash..) Hope I made myself understanding..

I am also in the Market for a tunable ECU for the RX-8 and so far, the Cobb seems the best in price and simplicity, MegaSquirt for the latest version, will run ya like $700, Haltech like $941 and yes they can edit many many more parameters but that also complicates things greatly AND needs Dyno time if Yer not up to self tune it while driving around (which can be catastrophic to your engine if you don't know what ur tinkling with) Some things to keep in mind too is HOW FAR are you willing to push your Rx-8? Full race ready application? Or just want to make it a little faster with a Turbo or SupaCharger for a Daily Driver (which is what Im shooting for) Like I stated before I see Rx-8's on youtube Boosting 10psi (which is like the most you'll ever be able to boost with aluminum housings before ya melt them) with clean AFR's so if the Cobb is sufficient to tune up to a Turbo boosting that hard (Rx-8's round max boost threshold, WHY spend MORE money on a Standalone ECU and make it real complicated to get er done right..)

I suppose the Cobb is fully User Tunable but it is best to let the Masters at the Art tune it for ya. I will probably buy one soon for my setup. https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-tech-garage-22/rx-8-drive-train-starquest-214359/

Do I have a choice as to what "calibration" is available for my car? Sorry for the noob questions :-)

Most of it. It has changed color, though.

Is a total lack of common sense a prerequisite for citizenship in N00blandia?
