Question for Cobb users
I have been on this site long enough to know that the Cobb Ap is the bees' knees, but my question is without the MazdaManiac tune, is it really worth the money? Is the performance increases without the MM tune worth the $400?
My car has a K&N drop in filter and BHR ignition and Exoticspeed R1-T exhaust. Without boosting the car, the only "power-adder" I can see left is the Cobb tuner.
Anyone have any input?
Thanks for your time!
Brian

I mean, don't get me wrong. I realize that people are going to ignore the law in the matter and steal the stuff. It happens all the time.
And, even though a calibration from one car wont work on another, people seem to be very tolerant of a car that runs like crap just as long as they are getting something for free.

That's interesting, so would we have to "divorce" the AP from our car before selling it? Sucks for FI cars that don't even run without calibration.
Obviously, in practice, it won't work that way. I'm in California, so in principal I can't even drive my car right now without a CARB EO# for the tune. By definition, you're dealing with outlaws.

yeah that was me that offered that, but nobody thought paying 5k for a kit that included all that was cheep enough for their super smart turbo on a budget project.
most of them gave up or are now way past 5k in their builds. I laugh.

If I may however get more or less back to the OP's question.
The MM service IMO is well worth it ...
+1 with RX8Soldier's comment ... however I defiantly think it's worth the 400 to monitor your car's vitals.
The Cobb AP is hands down the best mod I've purchased for the RX8.
EDIT:
Oh and I see you have the BHR Coil system ... then why not get the MM tune with the dwell settings and maximize the coils potential.
Some say it will provide a hp improvement.

Not everyone thinks being able to see what's going on is important, but at least they make great "Parts for Sale" threads
