I offered to pay for people's dyno at the other thread and no one signed up. And that's my problem too?

hey chuck, I live on the peninsula right by the 92 bridge. I don't know if I am 100% sold on your intake, but I would volunteer to have you use my car 1 day to dyno your intake. my 8 is completely stock and has 1,550 miles on it. PM me if you want me to come down.

Based on what information? OK, so you don't trust their dynos...what about the other one that was posted?

Weather permitting, I plan to get my car dyno'd with the RE intake next weekend too.

If you admire the beauty that the 8 makes so much power while being so quiet (this is a beautiful thing), then you will not be happy with any aftermarket intake. My experience with the K&N is its only loud under full throttle. Just cruising around town it is slightly louder but not much. I've pulled into my apartment complex many nights at 2am and haven't gotten any complaints from the neighbors (and I've asked them in passing about noise). I personally think a stock 350Z is much louder than an RX-8 with the K&N.

I'm surprised about "less throttle" response. I've had both short ram and cold air intakes in previous cars. IMO, the short rams gave me better throttle response.

I haven't installed my K&N intake yet but it'll be interesting to see/hear/feel how it is after reading the posts in this thread.

I had tried the RE intake. Chuck makes a nice product and it installed just fine. My problem was that I couldn't get the power increase expected. The sound wasn't too bad, but the Gtech just wouldn't show a power increase. With cold weather setting in in WI, I ran out of time to tweak the thing so Chuck was very willing to take it back, thinking that maybe I had it installed kittywompus or something. Hope you get the power on the dyno run this weekend Omicron! Be sure to give Chuck a call before hand and ask for notions on exactly how everything should be positioned.

I have the Typhoon I installed on my car. It took about 30 minutes of installation, and I love it. The noise it makes I love, and so do my friend all agree. I guess you guys and gals never had a car with loud pipes, like Borla's and Flow Masters. The sound is a lot better than loud pipes. My show car has loud pipes, and you have to crank of the music to listen. I have no hesitation on the gas pedal either.

K&N Now has a drop in filter for RX8

I just ordered a K&N # 33-2284 today. They just came out with it. Cheaper than the green filter. $42.88 from
www.fox-performance.com. I first got the part # from the K&N website.
