Is it possible to convert key type?

Hello fell or 8 members. So I've been searching to see if there is a way to switch my card key to a switchblade key or normal key(transponder) but haven't had any luck so far. Would anyone let me know if it is even possible? I am really not a fan of the card key. I also asked a Mazda mechanic at browning Mazda and he said it is impossible. I would just like to have some reassurance on here from othe rx8 owners. Thanks in advance and sorry if this post dent belong here.

I think his question is a little different, from what I can tell it looks like he has the Advanced Kelyess Entry on his car, the black rectangular "credit card" key.

Does anyone know if switching from that key to a switch blade type key will allow you to still work the system as before or will you only be able to start the car using the actual physical key?

yeah, i have the 'credit card' type key that mazda gave me(only one) and it doesn't even work wirelessly; it is ***'d. I just like the older types of keys. but i don't really know how various wireless entry works.

It was not exact no, but in at least one of those threads people talked about changing their keyless entry into a switchblade key. The person that did talk about it if I linked the right thread said he could start the car and lock it, but could not unlock it with the actual key.
