Is there any weight difference between the OBX header and the stock one?

From the pics, the quality looks pretty good. I'd probably smooth out those welds at the 3 pipe junction a bit, but otherwise, not too shabby for $300 and change. And at 14.4lbs, I'd bet that's a significant weight savings over the cast stock manifold. What diameter piping is that?

I paid 271 after shipping/insurance.

And it is 2.75" outlet.

And yah smoothing out the welds would be simple, its only that one spot that looks very messy.

I'm sorry if you already answered this, but are you going to dyno the before and after?

Now you got me thinking about getting one of these when I get my high flow cat to go with my Racing Beat exhaust, so I would have a complete exhaust system

dDub - when are you going to install it? I'm out of town next week, but would like to see it in person.

Probably not, I want to do the whole exhaust system at once so I only have to do the unbolting/swapping one time, plus dynos are expensive for a poor college kid/independent rx7 mechanic like me so I don't see justification in dynoing before and after a header, it can get costly having to dyno twice setup/minimum fee. Plus to get an accurate dyno if you're not doing it the same day, the conditions will have to be very close or it'll have to be SAE corrected, and many dyno runs would have to be done rather than just 1 each time.

As stated above, probably not soon since I want to do full exhaust all at once. Still working on a deal for buying someone's exhaust, but I haven't heard back from him in a while so I may just go ahead and get a new one. Then I have to put in my order for the RP supercat midpipe :D

Did you want to see it in person uninstalled? If so it'll be a while so we can do that if you'd like. I can meet you somewhere and show it to you, PM me and I'm sure we can work something out.

I have known OBX to be a very reputable company. Their stainless steel header at that price is a steal.

Can't wait to hear from dDuB when he install his header...or anyone who had this header installed on their RX-8.
